  2. He was away to try and fiddle with the server to allow the scooby mod Unforutnately I cant see any games on the list so my connection is semi-screwed at the moment
  3. WoOT! I'll have some of that!!
  4. Hmnn.. that doesn't sound too promising I'm afraid.. If none of the other suggestions work for you It may be that you would have to upgrade the amount of memory in your laptop. Any idea how much memory yoru latpop has? 256MB? 512MB? 1024MB/1Gigabyte?. Only other thing to try is closing everything else you have running.. Including all those applications that sit on your task bar at the bottom right of the screen. (Right-CLick > Close on each icon) this may free up some memory.
  5. *drool* I gotta get myself a machine polisher!! ( & some dry weather) I thought it looked great in the first couple of photos... WoW! [] Nice work!
  6. [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(] D'oh! oh well.. I'll have to call it a night gotta get up in the morning.. Hopefully I'll get on tomorrow night..
  7. Me neither.. I've started a new one called "SIDC ScoUK" hopefully it will show up... password "scooby" as before
  8. ok... was gonna go to bed but you twisted my arm. []
  9. I take it a deal couldn't be done with 5th gear to give it away in a competition then [:'(]
  10. I'm in just now if anyone want's a play...
  11. BTW - what mods have you all downloaded so far? I'll try and match that to my installed version.. That shoudl help any problems with playing online and havign mismatched vehicles
  12. Shouldnt have to buy new bits for the laptop.. YOu may have to delete stuff But before then... what version of windows are you running? XP or Visa? If XP.. Find your "My Computer" icon, either on the desktop or start menu somewhere.. Right click the mouse button on the icon and select properties You should get a window come up titled "System Properties" Select the "Advanced" tab Inside the "Perfomance" area press the settings button a new window will popup select the "advanced" tab on the new window Then where it says "Virtual Memory" near the bottom press teh "change" button Select Custom Size and change the Initial size to somethign like 512 and your maximum size to whatever the "recommended" value says at the bottom part of that window. Once changed, click the "set" button Then Click "OK" on all the windows to close them. You'll probablt be asked to reboot.. If you do then go ahead and reboot.. If you dont get asked to reboot, then reboot anyway for the changed to take effect.. Once the computer reboots.. try rfactor again.. if it doesn't work (again) let us know.. Hope this helps...
  13. Got in now. Server settings were changed to allow all cars.. Thanks neil []
  14. [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(] Cant get onto the server.. Get booted off when trying to get in.. says "Server does not recognise vehicle" ? Seems a bit odd as I'm trying to use the standard car that came with the game Kodi 2005 Zr Green #08
  15. Aye with a keyboard it's pretty tricky.. Need to stick on all the braking / traction control type driving aids. Works better than soem other racing sims.. Steering wheel is definately the way to go.. I've got a Logitech Formula Force Wheel (red one), which although a few years old now still works.. To get the most of this sort of game you need the new Logitech G25 wheel. Its' got a proper manual gear shifter and clutch-pedal.. Bit pricey though.. I'm saving my pennies..... [] P..s I'll probably be "on-track" later on this evening if I get a chance [au]
  16. OOhhhh that's quick.. Got down to 1min 4sec in the standard green car you start off with.. Averaging closer to 1min 6sec
  17. In fairness. (not to turn back on my previous comments) But I agree that educating drivers from an early age is key. If you going to advertsise the problems with dangerous/careless driving then yes I believe it does need hard hitting ads like those above. Perhaps even more realistic! Now with the issues of speed. I cant remember the exact statistic but I think it is something like over 80% of accidents which are a cause of death or injury take place within the legal speed limit!! [] Speed is an issue yes. But that's only because lack of skill and downright common sense don't exist to completment it. The 60MPH limit is a max not a target which is what I beleive what many school of motoring places are encouraging, not happy with that.. Just because the limit is 60 doesn't mean that the road is suitable for that, not every corner is safe at 60 not ever car is safe at 60 and certainly not every driver is safe at 60.... What is seen and heard of all to often is young drivers getting egged on by yer mates to go as fast as you can and seek out the thrill off getting the car drifting on bends at 80 odd MPH.. All very well if your a racing driver on a track, but the roads around us are much narrower, and have no safety margin of tyrewalls and gravel traps to slow you down. You go off you hit a tree or another road user. All for what. A quick thrill! Nah not for me i'm afraid. Education is the key. No direct offence intended here, but young drivers (under 25's) are at serious risk especially when they get behind the wheel of a high power car. Ok the car is probably more capable than their 1.4 saxo but do they have the skill to handle the extra speed and perfomance.. Probably not, despite thinking they do! In saying that What's the first thing most young drivers do when they get behind the wheel? Yep let see how fast 100mph is.. God knows even I did that, and it scared the poopie out of me once I discovered how long it takes to slow down from that speed.. In this case the scare treatment works.. You realise your being very silly. But this can have the opposite affect. If you live to tell the tale you'll probably do it again to get that buzz, (bit like drig addiction, never the same again). I'm a member of the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) and finally even they are starting to see sense. Dont get me wrong the IAM course is a bloomin good idea and I honestly believe every driver should be forced to take it. And if any of you guys haven't I suggest you do.. Pay £30 (or whatever it is) a year after you passed the test but you save lots on car insurance. I save over £100 just because I'm a member of the IAM. OK so not only do you save money, but you also boost you driving skill by a huge amount. Observation is the main focus point and knowing how to use observation while driving.. What the IAM are in the process of dogn right now are putting together a young driver network consisting of under 30's who are already IAM members and creating a younger version of the IAM as many member are.. erm... older, but the main target should be on younger drivers and that's what they hope to target, by getting young drivers speaking to other young drivers.. Their more likely to listen that way.. Ok rant over... Speed is not the sole issue with road safety, drivers mentality to driving is what the problem is that needs to change.. I honestly believe they should do away with the mobile speed cameras (gatso's are probably worthwhile in genuine blackspot areas) and concentrate on educating drivers at the side of the road instead of writing them a ticket.. Something has gotta be done!!! ok, i'm really done now.. honest.... Note: The comments above are my own opinions, and I mention "young drivers" in the general sense. Not all young drivers are careless and dangerous, some are very good drivers.. Just thought I'd mention that before I get flamed [6]
  18. Ok got it all up and running with Knockhill [] Just having a quick mess around with the keyboard.. Will plug in the steering wheel tomorrow.. What sort of lap times should I be looking for ?
  19. Not heard of that one.. (Must be slipping usually follow PC racing games). I'll go find then I'll easy have a race on Knockhill Will the demo do or will I need full game?
  20. Absolutely!!!! The message clearly isn't getting through to drivers in this country!!! More adverts less speed cameras [6]
  21. LOL! I would believe me.. but he lives in Southampton.. If he ever comes up with it I have to drag him along to a meet. Driving down there next month to drool over it for a couple of weeks.. BTW - 2 days after he got it it had to be returned to garage.. Fuel Leak.. Apparently Dodgy gasket on the fuel sender Clicky to RB320oc [:$]
  22. Here's one! eBay Clicky If I had the money I'd have the RB320.. No question of it.. Next woudl be a Spec D, then boot up the internals to RB spec.. 3rd choise woudl be a full blown STi, then PPP it and stick just about every other Prodrive option on it.. There by making it as good as the RB, at which point you'd spend more than the RB320.. So that's a [Y] from me for the RB320. (Well that and my bruv picked his one up a couple weeks ago *drool* )
  23. Thanks for the confirmation... Didn't know that...
  24. Keith @ 101.9 today [:'(]
  25. Yep that's the leccy mirror switch.. For those that havent spotted it, looks like STi console dash with rev counter in the middle? Not sure if that was on My03 WRX's or not.. Think they still left the rev counter at the RHS at that point. Would still say WRX as I fancy making that change myself if I find a doner STI dash... []
