  1. Don’t know about Dalkeith, but Pentland Precision Engineering in Loanhead are meant to be good – Nobles send their work there. Derek
  2. First of all i’d upgrade the Operating system to a minimum of 10.5. Also upgrade the RAM – the operating system needs 1Gb alone, which uses just about all of yours. Worth checking with the Microsoft site and checking if you are running the latest versions also. I know there were lots of probs with Office 2008 and the MacBook but I think if you update everything that will solve most of the probs. But you will also have to boost the RAM to get the best out of your Mac. Good luck Derek
  3. Car looks very nice Neil – and yet again more fantastic pics! Derek
  4. Fantastic pics as always Neil! Love the pic above, can actually see the tyre melting!!! Derek
  5. Does anyone know of a good engineering shop who is able to do this. AP discs are getting a bit rough and could just do with a little skim. Thanks Derek
  6. Looks absolutely stunning!! Have seen the 3 parked outside Nobles and I know 1 is a demonstrator – must put my name down for that! Were you the lucky 7.29 owner yesterday morning? Hope it’s all you wanted and more! Derek
  7. Think it looks stunning! Hope you like it as much in the flesh – if not just cover it in clear matt film, will kill the glimmers. Will be some machine when completed, seams fantastic at the moment. All the best with this one! Derek
  8. Fantastic! And some more of the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhwbxEfy7fg
  9. Think it looks stunning! Hope you are well happy Chris. Must get a set of those headlights for mine – take it they are the HID versions, judging by the PIAA Logos behind the grill. Can’t wait to see it in the flesh, or when the SICC boys get their lenses on it – no offence to your pics! Derek
  10. Looks fantastic and car looks well nice! Heading up to Morenish in a couple of weeks for a holiday with the outlaws – 18 of us in all. Trying to persuade the good lady to take both cars – too many good roads not to take advantage of – the S-max isn’t quite the same. Her worry is she will never see me or the kids and have to cook her own meals. Derek
  11. Chris, You must have been gutted – I certainly am! Apart from that how was it looking? Must be the mutts!!! Hope it is all sorted before you head back. Derek
  12. The thing with life is everyone has different tastes, views and opinions on everything – which is how it should be. You like what you like and that’s it. Geo – the shots are not my cup of tea as too much work has been done on them in Photoshop (the car looks fantastic without it) but they do not offend either (and it’s the results you wanted. Photoshop is a great tool and so much can be done to enhance and manipulate shots. Higgy doesn’t like it, but it can even help bring out the detail in his pics. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder! Derek
  13. Fantastic write up Graham and car is looking sweet! Also due Geo a huge THANK YOU for the work he has just done on my RB. Took it up last Friday for service and also to find out what the front end knocking was – ball joints, droplinks and various other bits all shot. All replaced and Geo even took the rear bar off his own track car to replace mine – 10 years of Scottish winters had taken there toll on the original. So now the car feels fantastic and stiffer that ever – Whiteline just seams to be Viagra for cars. Geo all you efforts and much appreciated – I know it was a barsteward of a job! Thanks Derek
  14. Certainly different Grant but i’d expect nothing less! Must admit a huge smile came to me face when I thought about what me wee bruv would have thought – in fact i’m shure I can here him laughing now, but in a very good way and certainly wanting to be manhandled into it. Hope the smile never leaves your face and enjoy every moment. Life’s too short. Can’t wait to see it in the flesh – i’ll even put on the shades. Derek
  15. Car is looking stunning! Would love to see the front mount in black. Derek
  16. Devastated for you Jim! Glad all involved are ok. Must have been one of the worst things ever to watch, unable to do anything after all the time and effort that went into the bomber. Sad end to a fantastic machine. So sorry to read and see. Derek
  17. Fantastic result and a huge well done to everyone involved! And an overwhelming thanks to the 3 Amigos – without your dedication this would never have happened. Hope you are as proud of yourselves as we are of you. Derek
  18. Chris, Looking forward to seeing the car in full wide arch mode – always fancied the same on the RB5. Who is doing it and is it a metal kit, fibreglass or full carbon fibre? Take it you are keeping it white. Derek
  19. Front end – i think i like! The rest – what the phuq – looks like an armoured car. What are they trying to do. Derek
  20. Fantastic news! Bet it feels good to be back behind the wheel. Are you going to the big meet on Sunday? I’m hoping to get, but it depends where the wee fella is playing footy and what time. Glad your back Derek
  21. Welcome! Hope it puts a smile on your face during the down times. Derek
  22. Just to let you all know. Between the donations on the day and the money that was left from the floral tribute – you helped raise £1,166.12 for The Scottish Spina Bifida Association. Thank you all again DougieC’s Family
  23. Imy, Thanks for the reply and I hope all went well in Birmingham, I should have been there myself. Went for a drive today with my wife and kids and headed to Knockhill. We didn’t want the floral tribute just to be left at the crematorium, so decided this was a perfect place for it. Arrived at about 1ish and headed to the office. Once I was able to speak and explain what I wanted to do. We headed off to the John R Weir Chicane – a place where we spent many an hour spectating. After jumping the fence we laid the tribute against the tyre wall, cried more, headed back to the car before tying black ribbon on the fence and crying some more then got into the car. Sat for some time before deciding the time was right to leave. Needed to change the mood in the car, so after spitting a few flames and at about 5,500 revs, the clutch was dumped, the kids screamed and the wife yelled. Headed around the set up rally stage, yes and faster from the back, no and slower from the front, over in seconds, but was that needed, such a relief and i’m sure I could make out Dougie’s laugh, even over my wifes screams. Thank again to all involved with the SIDC – you are special people and a huge part of our family. Derek
  24. Getting to the end of one of the longest and most difficult days. Without a doubt the overwhelming support of the SIDC has touched our hearts more than you’ll ever know. We know that Douglas was such a special person to us and as usual with family you take this for granted. Today we realised how much he touched other peoples lives and for that we feel so so very proud. Must admit did feel strange seeing the RB5 being driven away by Scott & Rosie (have to thank you both for doing this), but when we reached Straiton and saw the convoy awaiting us – I could just picture Douglas punching the air and yelling, as the day I went to see him after getting the rebuilt. Can’t tell you the effect the convoy had on so many people, especially as it followed the cars and went through the awaiting congregation. I think more people now understand why we love the Scoobs so much, as even the rumble had such an effect on everyone there. We just want to THANK YOU ALL, not just the people who attended today, all those involved in organising the wreath, all those that left comments on the forums, all those that sent cards, we want to thank everyone who has anything to do with the SIDC – you made us the proudest family ever today, that our son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend was so loved by so many. RIP DougieC
  25. Grant, Officially, it is only family flowers, and as Dougie was a member of the SIDC/Scottish Scoobies Family, the wreath would be most welcome. Derek
