  1. Ahhh you've got an RA, don't know much aboot the classics but do know that it'll certainly be alot more of a focussed drive than my saggy a.rsed '03 wrx - but I'm working on it Either way, would definitely recommend the geo to get the full benefit of your ugrades Craig
  2. Have got the p/drive settings at the mo albeit slightly tweaked It does optimise the handling of the car regardless of what you have or haven't fitted. Obviously it is of alot more benefit if you fit the usual suspects before hand ie. arb's, alk, d/l's, steering rack bush's etc. Personally thinkin aboot the handling aspect o the motor and if an anti lift kit is fitted then my p/d settings will be up the swanny. For as good as the p/d settings are they do tend to chew their way through my shoulders !! Duncan at Hypertech said that they can resolve that with their 'fast road' settings. Craig.
  3. Wasn't quite a refurb for me more of a re-placement, finally got ma brembos on with new pads, kinda makes you wonder why you put up wi the 'average' brakes of old !! Apart from the usual 1000bhp upgrades that your car can get, getting the brakes and handling sorted gives the same level of satisfaction I rekon Craig.
  4. Hi everyone, I know Hypertech are renound for their 'fast road' setup but was wondering if anywhere was closer to Dundee that offered the same level of workmanship, not sure if AWD do the geo side of things ?? Whats everyone's current take on this ?? Thanks, Craig.
  5. Personally no a big fan of decals but I like these, their of a lads off sn - think frayz is his user name : http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s296/craigwrx/scooby2.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s296/craigwrx/scooby1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s296/craigwrx/scooby.jpg Craig.
  6. Yir some boy I dinnae think I've ever let the steed go below a 1/4. My way o thinking is the fuel pump'll be sookin' a the crap up fae the bottom of the tank - and that does naebody any good. You obviously dae alot more miles than me tho' - £50-ish each time, ooooya !!!
  7. Personally think changing 4 tyres due to one puncture is a bit ott. I tend to work on the same rule of thumb as grant - change tyres in pairs end of ( << must be christmas again lol). Craig.
  8. Personally wouldn't do it mate if you're worrying aboot warranty. Keep the pennies and bide your time then have the car mapped by someone like Andy Forrest (upon having the basics fitted first). It makes alot more economical sense 'cause no doubt you'll want to go down that route anyways at some point Craig.
  9. Cheers Grant appreciate the snaps. The picture of the lip square on the back looks quite good, but it's hardly noticeable side on eh ?? Totally agree with the 'depends on which angle you look at the wrx one ' point of view; some days I think it looks quite good but others I think I'd rather have something else - even an STI one !! I know HT Auto's are quite accommodating when it comes to taking on new replicas but I think there needs to be sufficient interest for them to start a new item ?? Any how thanks again Grant, will mull over your pics and try and make a decision Craig.
  10. Would definitely stick a meter over the terminals to check the new battery firstly. Could be an immobiliser issue with the dead battery an all. A wee phone call to a dealership might steer ya in the right direction ?? Hope ya get it sorted Iain. Craig.
  11. Here Grant are you still sporting the spoilerless look the now ? Was wondering if you managed to find out anything about the 'A Line' lip spoiler ?? Quite fancied it myself but no one seems to make them (other than subaru). Did you ever regret taking the spoiler off, in two minds wether to go ahead with it - the wrx ane's just getting on ma nerves !! Craig.
  12. Sounds good Grant, will have to lay some cash aside for a wee troop along ; Craig.
  13. Burst oot laughing there mate - didnae see it coming, quality
  14. Best mates faither upon first viewing, "nice car there craig, what is it a wrx / sti ?" Me, "wrx !!" Him "Wit, ye couldnae afford the sti then ?" Promptly answered with "p.iss off you lol !!!" Craig.
  15. Typical, nothin's ever easy is it Ach well cheers lads. Will have a wee skim through ol' SN. Al, outta interest what speakers did you settle for - no wanting to go daft price wise just a fairly decent speaker would do me fine ?? Craig.
  16. Remember Gus knowing a pretty reputable paintshop, no sure if they're close to you tho - drop him a pm mate. Craig.
  17. Cheers Al, topper of an offer. Does the wee perforated panel come off seperately ?? Just no wantin' to take off the door card if I can help it. I'll get ma hands on a replacement and if it looks as though I'm gonna need help I'll give ya a shout ok Did you upgrade your speakers by any chance, might work oot cheaper getting aftermarket anes aye ?? Craig.
  18. Personally, used ma finger nail and wd40 - christ that sounds a bit perverse Wasnae to keen on rubbing the boot wi a plastic card. Hairdryer's deffo the way to go Craig.
  19. Anyone know how much of a b.ugger of a job this is, ma poxy passenger one's burst and is driving me daft - have the bass at minus 5 and still buzzes like crazy Craig.
  20. There is definite increased wear on the inner shoulders but to be honest it's a bit of a double edged sword, you kinda have to suffer the uneven tyre wear to get the benefits of the car's better handling. Got T1-R's at the mo and they are meant to have a slightly tougher shoulder. To be honest when the time comes to replace, if there isn't another brand out there that offers the same package as the toyo's then I'll prob just get another set. Ask me if I'm still gonna do this in aboot 8 months time when I've had a proper chance to wear the b.uggers oot If you don't have any special settings at the mo, it's definitely worth doing !! Craig
  21. Good man !! Think PB has an offer at the mo, spend £10> and get sidelights free ?? Cheers oobster, will prob order them tonight Craig.
  22. Mornin' all, got a set of H4's from Gus a wee while ago but now thinking I should really replace all necessary bulbs in the headlight unit in a oner. Went onto Power Bulbs' web site and they only show > 00. Could anyone tell me which ones to order for definite - am I right in thinking there are three bulbs - main / dipped and sidelight ?? Cheers Craig.
  23. I ken, I ken, sometimes think I know it all clearly not the case !! Cheers for the comments folks. Geo; sitting here hangin' the head in shame Russ; hay hay, alright ma boy, hows the man doin' ? Yeah you'll have to swing past mate - you know the kettle's always on the biyle for a blether, be good to see ye. Boris; how you getting on wi your 1155's ? Craig.
  24. Well after a wee bit of a scutter, got the brake upgrade finished. Against Geo's advice thought the EBC discs looked healthy enough and didn't need a skim (first mistake). Got the buggers on the first time and set off doon the kingsway; instant wobble as soon as the brakes were applied - shi£e, basta$d shi$e !!!! Off they came again whilst muttering "shouldv'e listened to geo, should've listened to geo" Anyways 24 hrs after leaving them with Engine Resource in polepark; back on - sweet as a nut. Had to give the calipers a quick recoat to freshen them up wi all the bleedin' but hay ho. Even during the bedding in stage you can tell that they are going to be the business when used properly. Will try to get a photie or two up during daylight hours. Quick sum up : Re-painted / re-stickered brembos, mintex 1155's, braided hoses and some fresh brake fluid - happy bunny, done Craig.
  25. I usually give a wave / flash when I see folk, just no been oot in the motor much wi walking to work. Did see a nice GB 270 wagon in the seagate aboot 2:30 ~ 3:00on Sat, sorry for no flashing if you're on here, wiz too busy watching oot for dozy pedestrians - it's a nightmare along there, they're like wee lemmings just wandering aboot aimlessly across the road Craig.
