  1. 28 years young, '03 wrx with all bells n whistles declared (incl map) 4 points, protected fully comp - £440 ish wi Direct Line. Cannae be bad Craig.
  2. To be honest mate if any car has a a wee flashy light fitted and left for three weeks solid I would kinda expect that to happen especially in this colder weather ? If my car ever has been sitting for a while I'll do a double prime oot o habit. But do remember the fuel pump priming noise sounding sluggish ? The battery's obviously charging ok, started no probs last night - just a case of no touching it for a few days and see how the charge holds.
  3. Glad you got sorted Kit. How the bloomin' hell did they get 100 squid then ?? Was it def xs you spoke to the first time ?? As i've said before if the mintex turn oot to be gash then 40 notes is nae big deal. It's when you get into the big boy prices you have to be a bit more sure o what you're buying eh Craig.
  4. That would make sense then, I've got a 'Tracker Monitor' fitted and possibly don't have this sleep function. I'm sure I've read quite a few posts about this RAC piece of kit causing problems can't actually remember what exactly ?? Still charging the battery the noo, so will unhook the optimate tonight (got to work on the brakes again) then test it maybe on sat morning see what the story is. Like I said I certainly don't grudge puting a battery on the motor, it's just one o those things eh
  5. Cheers lads, there was a wee blip from the alarm the first couple of times it slowly turned over, but nothin since. Good tip about the sidelight usage will try to remember that one. Got the motor hooked up to an optimate the now, going to give it a good charge up to the weekend then leave it a few days without it and then test the voltage again. Wonder if it is the tracker thats doing the damage or the immobiliser ?? All this lecky stuff does my heed in Just need to do one test at a time and then take it fae there I suppose ?? Craig.
  6. No sure mate, I just use a multimeter, seems to tell if the things on the way out or not. Like Grant said the alarm / immob lights are just enough to drain the battery. Why there is two lights is beyond me Meant to say if the car's been sitting a while I do the double prime thing anyway - it did seem to be a bit of a lower sound pitch than normal ?? Craig.
  7. Cheers Grant, do remember it being kinda slow when left for a week during summer months but this was ridiculous. It was like the starter was frozen solid Prob keep an eye on the voltage with a meter, if it drops noticably then I think a phone call to Dingbro will be in order Craig.
  8. Bit of a funny one this ane ?? Cars been living in the garage of late due to walking to work. A week had past went to start it Saturday just there (very cold morning) and the the swine barely turned over !! It did it a couple more times during the course of the day but on the third start, it seemed fine - normal quick turn over ?? Did take it for a wee warm up in between runs but nothing that would fully charge a battery. Would these batteries be particularly suseptible to cold weather ? Threw the optimate on it over night and as I suspected; started no probs ? Just no sure wether to invest in another battery ?? Has anyone had similar simptoms during a cold snap ?? Craig.
  9. Kit, Any joy wi yir pad price ? Craig.
  10. Nae worries jim, still waiting for the pads so hopefully get the brembos on this wend - hopefully. Will give ya a shout as and when buddy, no wanting to leaving ye hingin' Kit, Had the same mentality, for the price they are it's no a big kick in the teeth if they turn out to be not so great aye. Good luck wi your upgrade Craig.
  11. Honestly lads, thought exactlly the same before I did mine. Did get a few pointers from Russ (mako) but other than just locating the fixtures and where to give a little tug (easy tiger ) all it takes is your time. Best bit of advice is start on a fri or something so you have plenty of time - nae trying to get the missus to the shops the same night or anything !! Ps. I opted for sitting the b.uggers in from of a convector heater rather than the oven technique, felt it was a wee bit safer. Craig.
  12. First off, cheers for the link Hutch Kit, Did a fair bit of research about what pads to go for - as every one does I got my hands on Geo's (cusco kid) brembos which came with EBC discs and red stuff pads. Think the concensus on the RS's is that they are good once up to temp. They don't really suit my kinda useage of the car so opted for another brand. Heard alot about the DS2500, pagids, black diamond, perforamnce friction but these are all in the region of £120-130 a set. I never skimp on parts for the car but just thought instead of blindly following what abody else did I would give these a go. Originally considered them when both Grant and Alan at AWD recommended them and other various posts on here saying they were good value for money. Personally not a track day participant, mostly fast road stuff, didn't see the benefit from spending >£150 for pads. Think for £40 it's gotta be worth trying. If they turn out to be cack I'll prob opt for the Extreme compound. Hope this sheds a wee o light onto your decision mate. Sometimes you're just faced wi too many options aye Craig.
  13. Here Corsa (or anyone really) contacted Stevie at XS and he quoted me £40ish for the mintex (definitely no complainin') ?? I asked if there was any variants to this range he said there is a mintex 1155 'X'. These came in about £75, he rekoned they are a more track orientated pad compound. I thought for £40 it's bound to be worth trying the 'lesser' pad ?? Anyone had dealings with these 'X' pads at all, never heard of them ?? Cheers folks. Oh aye Happy New Year to Y'all Craig.
  14. Lol cheers mate, at this rate the supplier will be paying me to take them Thanks again, will give them a phone next week when I'm back on track wi the caiper refurb !! Craig.
  15. Cheers buddy, it's gonna take some beatin' that Craig.
  16. Next part of the brake upgrade - gettin' ma hands on a set o' Mintex 1155's. Got a price of £95 from AWD, was wondering if anyone has got a better deal anywhere else ?? Thanks everyone, Craig.
  17. Money sent to ya mate Craig.
  18. Just a wee heads up for anyone in the same situation as maself. Got holds o Alyn at AS Performance. He can get them for £60ish for both sides ho ho ho Craig.
  19. Much you wanting for them Gus ? Craig.
  20. Lol cheers mate, tried Ian last night aswell, think he said £95 plus delivery Could be just living wi the bloody seals as they are !! Keep the options coming tho, they're all appreciated Craig.
  21. Thanks for that, spoke to Andy last night, he said he'll try a few places for me today hopefully - nightmare Craig.
  22. Ok folks next dilema, needing to recondition my front brembos; namely the seals. Where does everyone go for the complete seal kit? Just got a bit of a fleg asking a dealer for a price so where do I try next ?? Thanks everyone, Craig.
  23. On a non-remapped or UK car I would have thought normal UL would suffice, there are claims by Shell that V-Power improves fuel economy tho ? Craig.
  24. I've only got these for one of those OBDII readers, don't know if they're any use to ya : http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/Pcodes.shtml Craig
  25. It's the most mental looking fozzy I've seen, good work Mr. Bus :kerstsmiley: Craig.
