  1. What you driving mate, will keep a look out for someone doing 95 down the clepy Craig.
  2. Good ole Britainia eh For under 500 notes the wheelies are turning. Just mind you ravin' aboot them mmmm....... Were they pretty forgiving when it came to general road use, everyone seems against coilies unless used on a track aye. Personally just think they make the car look the dog's ?? Got the p/drive springs the noo and am eventually gonna visit the land of whiteline, just needing someone to do the hard sell on me and say "feck it just buy them ya big panzie" Craig.
  3. What he said Craig.
  4. Could be tempted to go to this. Think a face to face scenario is always better when it comes to polishing techniques and what products to use. Needing a few more goodies masel Craig.
  5. Here Gus are these the coilovers you opted for the forester and the uk300 ?? Cannae be bad for that price eh ?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/D2-Adjustable-Suspen...1742.m153.l1262 Craig.
  6. Wee'er scoop and get it dropped - you've got a winner. Sucker for black wheels masel' Craig.
  7. Are all performance items such as turbo, i/c and injectors from 2001 sti's interchangeable with my model of car ('03 wrx) ?? Still a bit confused as to what fits what when it comes to buying second hand. It's a bit daunting to hand over oddles of cash and just having to totally trust whoever's selling the goods. Would be great to reach the 320 ~ 330 mark which lands nicely into sti turbo territory as apposed to 16, 18 & 20G's - think they're harder to come by second hand ? Sorry for the typical post people just no finding any concrete answers in the previous posts. Craig.
  8. No wanting to confuse ye any more mate but have heard Meguiar's G220 machine polisher is better and more user friendly than the Porter ? Best advice from me is phone Polished Bliss, ask for Richard and get his views. There is polish called menzerna intensive polish that works really well by hand. Personally would give the hand technique a go first for fear of burning and there is always the additional expense (think the G220 is £150 alone). Craig.
  9. Colin, I think john (the welsho) had a set for sale, you could always do a quick search Craig.
  10. Thanks Peter, you've just seriously put the mind to rest was flappin' a bit there To all who were asking, got the pads from XS Motorsport. Checked the bank statement after getting them; definitely £45ish. As I mentioned way back when I was first considering these that I'll probably opt for the 'X' anes next time. Think fae memory they're £75ish. Peter; meant to mention also I've got the EBC dimpled / grooved discs on. Thanks everyone.
  11. Alright mate, welcome to the most bloomin' expensive forum I've ever visited (wi all the modding advice) Craig.
  12. Meant to also say I've got drilled & grooved discs (never had these before), this wouldnae cause it would it ?? Craig.
  13. Someone on here has bound to come across this little problem. I bought the mintex 1155 pads for the brembos knowing that there might be problems so here we go : The short term bite of these pads is really good but what I've noticed is if I'm doing reasonably heavy braking for a longer time a kind of a dull whine noise happens. It's no the best description I know but there is no vibration of any kind and looking at the pads there's nothing worrying to see ?? Don't know if this is a mintex trait but it's a bit daunting when you hear it. Bare in mind these pads aren't the 'x' (extreme) ones, they were only 40ish quid so you get what you pay for I suppose. This happened to anyone else ?? Thanks folks, Craig.
  14. Nice examples there mate, got the wee ain started already - good man Craig.
  15. Sorry I havnae replied lads, been a busy laddie this weekend. Thanks alot for all your comments, it makes all the blood, sweat and sweary words worth it Chris; Got a good price from Geo, but I decided to put new pads on which set me back another £45, then the discs needed a skim which was £50. So I think all in I was £500ish, painful but worth it I rekon. John; My wheels are painted mate, got them done for £80. I kinda gave my painter free raign (sp?) when it came to choosing a black for the wheels. He ended up using 'Renault Metalic Black'. It has a subtle green fleck through it, it's pretty smart in the sun (when we get it). Thought it was a bit different to the ususal flat colour. Colin; Cheers for the comment mate, got the splitter from HT Autos. Top company, would confidently recommend them to others. The splitter it very robust considering the price, as long as you don't go careering into kerbs you'll be ok - very good £118 in my opinion G.T. ; The long and the short of it was : strip down calipers / clean thoroughly / key the calipers / hang the calipers up and coat with 'high temp' black paint / recoat with hammerite gloss black / recoat with 'high temp' clear coat / apply new stickers / another coat of clear coat / cure in the oven for an hour or so at a low heat. I also replaced the bleed nipples, they were only a couple of quid from autosave, worth doing. If you want I have a wee link from sn I can send ya. A lad on there made a really good job of his, albeit he suggests using degreaser to clean the calipers, don't do this it is way too harsh on the seals as I found out. Luckily they settled back down from their 'bubbled' state. Again lads thanks again for the support, yir a braw bunch Craig.
  16. Old post this but better keep to ma word, a couple of afore photies : After : No the best photies but it's a nightmare getting decent daylight !! Craig.
  17. Welcome along mate Craig.
  18. Have read the same stuff masel but think these were mostly the fibre glass ones no ?? The HT ones are made of a flexi plastic - poly.... something, I can certainly vouch for the flexability of them, you can pretty much bend them to the point where the two ends meet and not a crack in sight - wayhaaayy Certainly no denying the oe stuff is great but at three times the price - wouldnae be me Craig.
  19. Very good company to deal with mate, would recommend them. Have a splitter from them on the car the noo. Very good fitment just make sure you remind them to put the fixings in the box with the splitter Craig.
  20. Good answer - fully agree Craig
  21. Appreciate the comments lads, looks like Hypertech here I come Hopefully getting a price fae them the morn so I'll take it fae there. Craig.
  22. Off the phone to them about an hour ago, got to say wasnae blown away with the phone service. I had to be asking for a price for something that they had done a thousand times and just got the impression they couldnae get me aff the phone quick enough. No sure if i'm being picky, the guy certainly wasnae cheeky but I just went away thinkin' the last 2 mins of ma life had been totally wasted !! All I was wanting was a price for supply / fitment of the most common handling mods known to a tuner of any kind ie. alk, arb's, d/links etc. Hypertech is lookin good Craig.
  23. Dipsy, Kinda got dealer settings at the minute mate, was looking for more of a tailorer setup, thanks anyhoo. Zeolite, Cheers mate would it be said that falkland are as good as hypertech ? Have definitely heard of / driven past them, just don't know too much aboot them aye ?? Craig.
