  1. I was thinking more of the Andy F mods mate. 569 lbs/ft torque! I`m buying a GB270, stay off the sauce Stevie boy.
  2. No doubt it will sound great but l aways thought the oval pipe looks way too big.
  3. John, with the age of your car its probably the worst time to trade in as the car will depreciate badly. Also dealers will not be interested in any of your mods as they will invalidate the warranty. I`ve had the same feelings when it comes to cars, a couple of wee niggles then a new model comes out then its out with the calculator! You`ve got the power and with a few cosmetic mods you could have your car looking like a GB270. whatever you do I hope you`re happy.
  4. Will have to see it in the metal, still not convinced. Maybe a face lift in a couple of years and a few Prodrive styling mods could twist my arm.
  5. Sorry to hear your news Dave but like you say maybe taking a break from the Scoob will be better in the long run. No doubt I`ll catch up with you with Stevie sometime.
  6. Cracking pics, looked a good day out.
  7. That was a bad one indeed. Thank goodness for the roll cage.
  8. Love it when that happens, can just imagine the look on your face!
  9. Is the new STI hiding in the dark for a reason? We`ll find out soon enough.
  10. Welcome home mate.
  11. I agree, Alpine for a HU defo.
  12. In the pics it doesn`t look great IMO, maybe different in the metal though. Does look a bit Skyline but also a bit Volvo!
  13. 2 can Dan lowering the tone again. Bucks Meet anyone?
  14. Stunning car mate.
  15. yep ignore me
  16. If it was a choice speakers or HU I would defo say speakers but as Stephen said you really need to change both to hear a big difference. £250-300 for alright ICE £400-500 for decent ICE. Go to Halfrauds and play about with different HUs and speakers then order them online for cheaper. Alpine and Infinity are reliable makes. Worth noting that newage Subaru speakers are mounted with 3 screws so you will have to get adaptors for ease of fitting and more upgrade options.
  17. You should have said your were a lady, Ayrshire meets are my specialty!
  18. Hi and welcome mate. I`m from the Glasgow/Cenral area so think yer man must have me mixed up with someone else.
  19. IMO I would change the speakers 1st as these are the worst ever! I have Infinity speakers all round and have an Alpine iDA-001 HU for my iPod. You can easily fit everything yourself and if you buy speaker cable connectors, ISO connector and speaker adaptors there will be no need to drill holes or cut wires, making it perfect if you want to return to standard when selling the car. You will have to drill holes in the brackets if you get the Forester pocket but the plain black pocket fits perfect. Also DynaMat for the speakers is good idea. Fitted everything myself to a 05 STI no probs.
  20. No doubt!
  21. Hope you can get it fixed and your back on the road soon Dave.
  22. Not keen with Halleys at all, waited over 15mins in their showroom for someone to appear, parts dept. haven`t got a clue and I saw a mechanic boot a RB5 right through the Homebase car park straight into the garage and promptly turn the engine off. Hope the car was his own and not some poor punters! Haven`t been back since.
  23. Nice one Mark, no doubt see I`ll see it about. Hope its a wee bit quieter than your last one!
  24. When I had my 1st Scoob back in 2000 Subarus were a bit of a rare sight and you got the wave of acknowledgment every time. Now I would say 50% of owners wave back. I own a newage and will wave to any model of Impreza and even EVOs! I actually got ignored from a club member in a garage forecourt yards away from the meet we were both going to! Strange.
  25. Not much I can add to what everyone else has already said. Big thanks to Grant, Ally, the Police and everyone involved in the organisation of it all. I was very proud to be part of the club and all the cars were a spectacular sight. Great to see the English and Welsh members there also. The service was very fitting, being emotional and humorous too. I am one of those people who don`t really feel the impact of an event until the next day when I start remembering everything, and its these thoughts that I will remember for the rest of my days.
