Whilst on the subject of fuel prices, I found this highly amusing...

Remember the lighter you go then the easier the car will be to stall at junctions etc. That could become annoying or embarassing
-
You wont go wrong with an exedy lightweight flywheel, its a nice bit of kit. A cheaper alternative is to have your OE flywheel machined to lighten it but I would only get that done by someone that knows what they are doing because its not just a case of cutting holes out of it in random places.
Clutch all depends on your budget or how much torque you are expecting to mod your car to. Different types of clutch have a different feel. IIRC the paddle is almost an on off clutch, takes a bit of getting used to as I have driven KINGHORN's bugeye with a paddle clutch and it was like this.
Please correct me if i am wrong with any of the above, I'm sure some more folk will have opinions and options for you to ponder over.

i have loads of fun in my 330 petrol.
I accidentally had the rear swinging out last night, didnt think I was going at any kind of speed, maybe just a bit early on the throttle exiting a roundabout. Scoob would have soared out the roundabout at a much higher speed. This was in the wet of course. Traction control flashing like buggery
-
I'd also recommend GT tyres in forres, the guy was very interested in my scoob and asked plenty questions, has a genuine interest in cars.
I'm sure I was £69 for the alignment, they did have to fiddle about though to get it all back nice and straight.

I'm always going to have a scooby, theyre too good to not have in my life
Beemer for every day driving, scooby for fun

Is there no indication on the fuse box cover to tell you which fuse is which. Usually by a small symbol for each fuse slot. Then the owners manual tells you which each symbol means, most are self explanitary though.
I dont have my scoob just now or i would go and have a look to see which fuse it is your seeking.

Thats an excellent torque figure there Derek. As i started reading this thread I thought it was a 2.5 bottom end that you had dropped in to achieve this.
Well done & happy motoring

To make sure the Traction Control is fully off... Press and Hold the DSC Button until the handbrake light illuminates as well as the DSC light, I think you hold it for 5 seconds. Just a wee tip that will make things more interesting.
Oooh interesting, I think I will try this
Thanks for the comments lads. I'm not sure which version it is E** as I'm completely new to beemers. Its an 03 plate if that helps
Rich
edit - Its not scoobyiain's beemer and I will not be doing a 35 hour so far thread. No offence scoobyiain

Well I decided not to wait on santa coming this year... (He wouldn't fit down the chimney anyway)
And I went and bought this...
Leather seats, cruise control, super quiet & comfortable motorway cruiser. (I must be getting old
)
Please excuse the pics as it was coming down dark after I gave it a quick wash and theres no sun these days to truly show up how immaculate this car truly is
Comments and cheeky buggers welcome

I think I like it. But I really love that blue & white wheel combo anyway
Thumbs up from me

20G and 400 bhp will be producing a fair amount of boost so the dump valve is essential.
Remember the car will have been mapped and set up to run with the current modifications. I would not alter or adjust any of the settings on the apexi unless you are fully aware of what you are doing
Got any pics of the car mate. 2.5 will pull like a train

And in a world of unlimited money what do you reckon could be done to change their way of driving or perhaps educate new drivers so they are good drivers from day 1?
My view is that the Driving license should have to be renewed. Every 5 years for example for EVERYBODY.
There are drivers on the road that have never sat a driving test in their life. That stems back to the days when you just applied for a license and you got one.
The highway code changes every year. Are drivers updated with this information....I THINK NOT.
Many drivers are incompetent to drive safely on our roads and the only way to improve this is to introduce a driving test refresher.
The boy racers get a bad name. In most cases I can see exactly why. The only way to solve this is education. Get safety drummed into them from a young teen age.
I do think this video is very hard hitting and it brings back bad memories that I did not want, but I think it does have an affect on some drivers but not all.

So how much do you guesstimate the weight of your car now John?
