288 from an STi with those mods??? What am i missing here, doesn't seem right.
Mapped to 95 ron will retard the timing a wee bit and thats where some bhp will be lost, not sure exactly how much you'd lose through that though

I love the look of the ScoUK Bugeye, but as I said before, I think it is crying out for some aftermarket rims just to finish it off perfectly:
Yip, I'd agree with you there John

Personally Kinghorn in Aberdeen are the only bodyshop i would use if i was getting work done on the scoob. Had work done on previous cars and none have matched the quality and service. Very expensive but if the insurance company is picking up the bill
Another vote here for Kinghorn bodyshop. I am friends with 1 of the son's and I had a repair done by the other son and it was a cracking repair they did

Craig, if its just that theres one part of you thats just dying to own an evo then just go and do it.
I did as I always wanted one. Had it 5 months (if that) then sold up to get another impreza. Least I can say I've done the evo thing now.
Both scoobies and evo's are wonderfully fast cars, both have many differences. One thing for sure will be that subaru burble
How about you sell your car for a bugeye STi. spend some money on the cosmetics and throw a couple of grand at the engine and you've suddenly got a beast of a car in your hands

MOT station washing your car, that'll be the only place that does that then
50 hours cleaning a car, thats some commitment you got there mate. Keep up the good work

Nice clips John,
I have often thought about getting a camera and some kind of mounts for the car. Where did you get yours from?

hahaha! or record one and watch the other - best of both worlds! That's the problem with you young guys that don't need sleep - you lack the capacity to think, and thus, the use of some reasonable logic coupled with current technolgies, is lost on you!
Nice meetin you yesterday Rich
Thanks John, it was a pleasure mate

Some nice pics there guys.
My first trackday and what a blast I had. Car was running ok although I seem to be overboosting now and that only started happening today so I'm going to have to investigate that one before something goes wrong.
Very nice to meet some new faces today, I'll no doubt be back for some more action.
Can't wait to see this vid

Thanks for the help guys, diff survived knockers
I will be changing the flanges when the new diff goes in. No drilling, sounds too dodgy

Cheers guys, old diff's back in, just the finishing up to do, attach prop, put exhaust back on hangers & of course a wee test drive!
-
**** it, Plan G
Old diff is going back in, so at least i can go to knockers and have fun breaking a diff, you never know it may not break just yet
When I come to change the diff again, I'll be making sure I have the tools to swap the flanges.
Thanks for your help playsatan

Trying the breaker on the flange nut just now (the new one thats on the car).
Chances on getting someone with an airgun at this time of night..or even in the morning before knockers is very slim.
Thought about drilling in situ but dont think i have the space to get the drill in.
-
Cheers, I've tried and tried to take the nut off the flange on my old diff and can't get it, havnt got an airgun.
I did think about drilling the holes but i wasnt sure if that was safe or not.
The flanges are the same size. Just the holes that are slightly out.
Dilemma...
Put old diff back in and probably break it tomorrow at knockers...
or drill holes to fit...
or somehow get old flange off!
Whats the best option? Drill?
-
Got ma replacement diff today, 5pm.
Been fitting it tonight and I'm stuck with joining the propshaft back onto the diff flange. The holes don't quite line up.
I know there is R180 and R160 rear diff's.
The car is a MY98 type R, the prop shaft flange holes are slightly smaller than the replacement diff flange holes. When i say smaller, I mean the holes are slightly more inwards (not physically smaller).
What do I need to do to fix this? Can I take my old diff flange off and put it straight onto the new diff?? (I have tried taking it off but I'm struggling without a vice).
The original receipt for the diff says it is a "Type R 4.4 diff comp"
I'm starting to worry that the diff is going to be the wrong one, since the flange holes dont line up right.
Help please anyone
Rich

Cheers Grant,
me and my mate will be attempting it, never done one before, any help would be much appreciated
The new diff should come tomorrow via next day delivery, if it doesnt arrive then I'm almost certain to be breaking my current one at knockers
