Yes - I am a noob with a Scoob, and I need advice on how to spend cash on my wagon!
I got it on Wednesday and I'm excited.....It's a red '98 turbo wagon. Yes - a wagon, so I can fit a pram in.....It seems as tho it has been looked after pretty well, FSH and has no mods (yet!), standard 16" alloys etc. It's done 70,000 miles. Now - the good bit.....
I have a bit of money left over from the sale of my CooperS, and I'd like to spend it on:-
A good going over for problems (possibly oil 5/40 or 10/40 Fully Synth Silkolene according to oilman, standard filter, Gearbox oil change - as first and second seem a little clunky, check timing belt - it was changed at 40 or 45k) Reliably boosting the power (Looking at Ninja turbo back - hi flow 100cell cat downpipe and rearbox, Hi-flow air filter - also very tempted by Andy Forrest's know how and Apexi FC) Improving body roll (its a big car so I can't expect wonders on this one) Respray bonnet (stone chips) and rear spoiler (fading colour/flaking laquer). I heard there is a place in Kirkintilloch or Kilsyth that is good? Making sure the brakes will stop me (Braided brake hose for improved pedal feel and dot 5.1)
This seems like a great community and ur a really friendly bunch. I heard from a friend of a friend of Malky's about the fire and how friendly and helpful you lot were when another scoobie owner is in need, and it's a great credit to ya all!
So, to sum up - I'm looking for reliable performance, max spend £1000 to £1500 on the lot. I don't want it to be extremely loud if possible. Any advice anyone on the five items above??
I live in the Glasgow area.
Cheers
Duncan
PS. I saw a really nice looking dark green wagon with 17/18" alloys in the Falkirk area (I'm not saying where exactly). Anyway - nice motor whoever u r!
