I'm back! (no thanks to Thames Water and NTL)!!
kaan_ors replied to kaan_ors's topic in South East England
Just realised that was my sixty ninth post AND my favourite number!! -
In January I had a water meter fitted by thames water and whilst doing so they managed to cut through my cable coming into the house. Therefore I have been without TV, phone and most importantly INTERNET. After much complaining to a man in india NTL said that they can fix it but it won't be for four weeks!! After much more complaining and a large mobile bill they said sorry, but it will still be four weeks! So finally today I have been reconnected (four weeks later) and am finally back on line. (I would just like to point out that I am not impressed with NTL). Luckily I have been able to keep an eye on things via the internet at work but have not been able to log in as chat rooms are barred. However, I have seen that Trevor has got a new car with a peculiar name, sorry to hear about the old one just remember to check your tyre pressure on the new one :-), Granby is an insomniac (or has been on night shifts like me all this week), somebody wants advise on where to service their car (took mine to Walldonway to get the brakes checked and found them to be very helpful - speak to Bruce if you need anything) and that there are a few more scoobies in the bromley / orpington area. By the way I saw a silver classic about two weeks ago at Locksbottom but had gone past you by the time I realised you had waved, sorry about about that, I was probably thinking about the content of my complaint letter to NTL! I think that's everything but if I've missed something please let me know.

A treat for us all...tunnel run again anyone???

got some footage. Not brilliant but you can see a few flames and hear the exhausts and dump valves. Any idea how to attach it. I want to attach it straight from my camera. -

Nothing to do with me! I spotted their radios as they were sat right behind me, I wouldn't have seen them otherwise. -
KENT SCOOBIES stickers with the map and STILL GRINNING!!! How do I get them? How much are they? Do they come off when I sell the car? Cheers.

That was a top laugh last night, we even managed to have an unmarked Beemer with us for a while before we went back into the Blackwall Tunnel on our return. They gave a wave! Totally agree about the exhaust, my nephews kept telling me to rev my engine but we couldn't hear it over everyone elses. I felt like I'd really let them down! They loved it though and definitely want to come on some other runs so it looks like I should have a permanent crew of two. Thanks to all those involved in organing the run and I'll see you all again before too long. Karn -
How about the mediterranean coast? I hear that southern Italy is nice in January. []

Game on, could someone add me to the list please! Ps hoping to get a sat nav from father crimbo so what is the post code for the meet? -
Cheers Tony, I'll see you at the tunnel run and we can discuss the ECU!
-
I think I know enough to realise that that is probably not a good thing!

Thanks Dal, I appreciate that. Are they easy to fit myself or should I get someone to do them?

Evening all, Worring moment yesterday when i was slowing down on the A20 towards the World of Leather Roundabout and discovered that the car wasn't stopping as sharply as she should do! Any ideas on how often discs and pads should be replaced (I appreciate that it depends on how hard you drive). I'm a fairly moderate driver and do very low mileage. Secondly, which pads do people recommend, how much are they and are they easy to fit yourself? (Please bear in mind that my knowledge of the working of cars is :- right peddle = fast and middle peddle = slow! Cheers

If it sounds as good as it looks then I'm sure all the blood, sweat and tears will have been worth it. Not to mention all the swearing!!

Depends on which day you choose but if someone could add me to the list please? Karn -
working that night I'm afraid and not allowed to take any holiday in December, which is a shame as I love chinese food......and curry.....and italian....and tex mex.....and turkish.....and french.....and spanish....and good old fish and chips. Got to go now and order a pizza. All this typing is making me hungry.

Good afternoon. Time for a nice cup of tea I think.[C]

did you get rid of it because no one would let you out at junctions?!? []

[:@]I totally agree. I don't drive much as I get the train to and from work but at the weekend I drove in and noticed that there are so many pig ignorant drivers out there. Nobody seems to use those funny orange flashy things at each cormer of the car but instead they just think that you will know that they are just about to cut across you and when you start sticking fingers up at them they make out its your fault!! I don't know if its because of the car (I never let 3 series BMW's out!! [:^)]) or if drivers are getting worse. The scary thing is that so many of them don't have insurance so you would be knackered if you had an accident with them. A few years ago I would have jumped out and had a discrete word [:@] but those days are gone as I don't think it would be a very good career move.

Good evening y'all. I trust you've all had a lovely day?

Just want to say a big thank you to Granby for meeting me in Well Hall and escorting me to the Wharf and Pele and Looney Toon for helping me navigate my way home.[] [Y] Also thank you to those that took the time to try and explain to me what all the mods are that you can have done and I think I might actually understand it now! [:S] Good to finally meet some of you and next year I'll be taking sat nav so when I get left behind at the traffic lights I'm not left cruising all on my own looking for Makros!! [:$] Really good fun and work permitting hope to meet up again with you all before too long. Anyway, I'm off to get a full decat, new ECU and some remapping!!!! [6]

Sorry to confuse you Baser it's actually Granby I'm meeting! [:$] Granby, are you still okay to meet at 2.30 at the old cinema on the roundabout? If so I'll wait in the slip road that runs in front of the cinema. See you then.
-
Still attending but couldn't add a thumbs up. I'll be meeting baser at Well Hall at 2.30pm.

Must admit that I don't really understand what all these upgrades mean as anything more technical that putting petrol in confuses me. However, I'm hoping some of you may be able to explain (in very simple terms) some of the modifications to me when we meet up for CiN next friday as I feel the need to start broadening my grin!
