  1. TBH, I don't think Top Gear are much better these days. There is far too much emphsis on comedy features instead of looking at the car for what it is. For example: Here is £1000, go build a car from lego and see if it will cross the channel and then see if you can rebuilt it into a microwave to cook pies in. Yawwwn. The review of the car on 5th gear said all it had to say. It wasn't as good as previous models and the three settings didn't really make much difference. What else do you need to know?
  2. I doubt very much that it is a head gasket, I wouldn't worry about that. As I said, my car was doing this a lot and I never bothered about it. Later, I broke a piston and the engine was rebuilt using the same block but with replacement forged-pistons. Before rebuilding the engine, the car went through extensive tests in order to find the fault (you wouldn't jsut pull an engine apart, would you?) and at no point was the head gasket diagnosed as being at fault. I have read from other posts that the most likely casue of this is in fact the heater matrix.
  3. LOL!
  4. There's a number, call it and see.
  5. Bland review of a bland car. What about the Scirocco featured at the Genva Motor show! Stunning in terms of looks anyway.
  6. MY06 does the same. Hasn't done it in a while, but did it the other day. Also my MY04 Celica was particularly bad for this. Never did find out what it was.
  7. Nice touch, and a much needed one.
  8. LOL! Nice one mate - Did Andy not give you any BHP or torgue figures?
  9. AFAIK Hypertech do free fitting of Whiteline goods.
  10. Agreed. Just a shame that streaming video radically compromises the quality of viewing. A fast car too; went past me on one occasion like I was parked by the road-side (was a warm up lap, but still). Liked the F1-style removable/retachable steering wheel and a nice save at the hairpin early on in the video. And those slick tyres - yeeehaaa!
  11. Same here
  12. Couldn't agree more.
  13. So we have another copper in our midst! Soon the site will have to be renamed to SIDCops
  14. Could have saved yourself some moeny and just worked on my car!
  15. I wouldn't be parking my car next to those bins. Are then meatl or plastic? Are the one wheels? Just thinking that one good strong gust of wind would have then into your car causing damage!
  16. na no yet. I'm hoping no news is good news. Will let you know mate.J
  17. Dave, I have gear box woes at present so spending money on looks is not in for the present, maybe later though.
  18. Not 100% sure as I know nothing about cars, but going by how it drives and what others have said, I'm pretty sure it is.
  19. Hmmm... I'll stick to getting a gear box first.
  20. Correct. All WRX wheels are PCD 5x100 and only from MY05 and onward did the STi change to PCD 114.3.
  21. I wonder if there will be a bonnet produced like that for the earlier cars, I'd love one!
  22. Yes, this was my initial reaction when GusTheBus fancied white wheels. But when they went on they looked a treat as do these ones.
  23. Standard: Restyled in MY08 Fashion!
  24. Splendid! The first of these two would make a great poster! Got the original per chance?
  25. Know it well. His boys did a compression test on my car when I broke a piston. Its back at the stealers for now, once I get a report from them I'll re-assess my options. Thanks for your input
