  1. No wonder the missus is going nuts! Didn't you just recently acquire the car as well? For the 320bhp you're after, you can easily achieve this (and a bit more) with a VF34/35 turbo. And since you are running the 2.5 you will get oodles more torque; up to 400 ft/lbs. This is the torque figure for my car which is a little more than other WRXs which I think might be down to running forged pistons, though I dunno for sure.

Keep away from the dark side :):D

  2. there is a whine started to come from back wheel at least i think it is the back wheel not there all the time like last night drove back home 5 mls turned into my drive way and it was whining kind of on and off reversed then drove forward and it disapeared ? anyone had this before , billy.

Wouldn't be the handbrake not properly disengaging, would it? Jack your car up and check to see if there is any lateral play in the wheel. Usually a wheel bearing is a drone and not a whine.

  3. Wow that was fantastic! Nice to see a in-car video that doesn't some trashy thumping soundtrack ruining it. The GT3 put a up a good fight, I thought the Viper driver should have gotten past long before that, I guess he opted for the patient approach. Did anyone else notice that the video was 10 minutes and 10 seconds long. YouTube are usually restriced to 10 mins.

  4. Thanks guys, Looking to get the both of the cars done, nice and fresh.

Unfortunately staying away from Calder motors as heard and known a few bad things about them...and also know they can be pretty pricey for the standard of work, but thanks for suggesting it. :hello:

Will look into the other 2 and see what they can come up with!

Have any of seen or have pictures of a newage with twin exhaust ( 1 at either side) full stainless system? Looking for that on the MY03.

Also getting a similar system to the new 2008 sti exhaust system on the MY08.

    Thanks.

Yeah, will look great with a pearl paint job and Lambo style doors, could also throw in one of those melodic horns as well!

IMHO, the exhaust is best left as it is, just as St3phen stays.

  5. You'll probably find that they CAN go to that power... but then... why would you really want to?

To my mind, it would be uber unrelieable, would handle like crap, and would only serve as pub bragging rights...

I'm pretty certain that you'd want something thats the best of both worlds, its powerful, AND goes round corners...

    Good point, or points :hello:

  6. Hey Chris,

How about *still* being happy with 470bhp and the new wideboy look and using it for day to day driving (when your home) and building yourself a bespoke Track car ?

The white one is sooo clean and reliable and seemingly pulls like a train, why change it or risk damaging it on track etc...?? :o:lol:

Then you could......take your time, get a shell for Steve to cage and build it from the ground up... Then slot in an engine of your choice for your needs.. Best of both ? Just a thought.........

Mind you, it IS easier spending someone elses money :D

Na, too much cash and work has gone into "White Lightneing". I think you should do the reverse of Frank's solution. That is, keep improving WL for track etc. and buy yourself another Scooby for day to day use as you wont be able to realise or unleash the full benefit of WL's potential.

All this modding-talk is making me itchy!

  7. I don't understand how you could let it go given how much you love and how you will miss it (over stating the case here a little!). I guess there are other reasons for releasing it that you don't want to share, so I hope you get something to fill the gap

    Keep posting :o
