  1. Octane booster?
  2. Want me to square you up for your brakes this weekend mate? Car's going in on Monday.
  3. Oh well its nice to be the guinea pig!
  4. Why isn't anything simple!
  5. I was told that I need a V8 TMIC for my MY06 WRX, but it has been suggested that the V7 is the same. Can anyone tell me if the V7 will fit my car? Thanks J
  6. Nice pics. Agreed, still looks pretty crap in STi trim, but the WRC model, well, that's pretty tasty looking!
  7. Yeah, going about 40mph under 3000 revs, what an embarressment. DCI Lee has made me an offer on his Brembos, looks like the search is over. Thanks for the help mate, and to everyone! No place like SIDC for the help! maybe one day I can repay the favour, just as long as no one wants advice on cars!
  8. Groan... a learning curve within a learning curve!
  9. Yeah, but i'm sure the discs woudl be pretty shafted.
  10. Dougie, is this what you are talking about? Click here.
  11. Yeah, I got that, but I was just wondering if the standard calipers would do for the track. As WUZ said, the Brembos would be ideal, but I'd need to get some disks to go with them cause the disc's PCD wouldn't do me (if I got a 2nd hand set from an STi user). So will the Brembos work straight off with the discs, or do I need that kit thing that's used with the standard calipers? Thanks all for your help and suggetions so far.
  12. Forgive my ignorance, but what is Bells and rotors? I'm guessing rotors are the discs...
  13. Aye I suppose so. I was wondering though, do I need the converstion with the STi Brembo brakes. or can I get away with just disks and pads?
  14. Just PM'd him, so see what he says. Thanks! J
  15. Yeah he mentioned on his For Sale thread that he had those. I'll have a look, can't hurt.
  16. Stephen: Dunno what I want, just looking at the options. I'd like some APs but cost is prohibitive. The Godspeed kit looks the part, but would it really provide enough stopping power on a 400bhp (if I get to that) car going around Knockers? I suppose I could use that kit in addition to some 2nd hand Brembos... Russell: That is the most likely option I think, others have suggested this too. Trouble is, these come off of an STi so 2nd hand discs wouldn't fit because of the PCD. So I might have to buy those and new disks to match, lieky to cost a grand? I take it the Brembo calipers bolt straight on? sKunk: Thanks for the link mate. £600 for discs though, pfffff!
  17. Hi Folks Defo going to be upgrading my brakes as I have done in two sets of standard disks in 18 months (and three sets of pads) with track use; I am now on my third set of brand new disks. I'd rather get my hands on good 2nd hand stuff, but no one seems to be selling anything at the moment, so I might as well have a look at the new stuff. Can anyone point me in the direction of Websites selling Brembos / AP Brakes with prices? I'm looking for Calipers/Discs/Pads. There is so many variations and I don't have a clue! Car is WRX MY06 PCD 5x100 Any guidance appreciated. Thanks John
  18. Yep, STi TMIC, VF34 Turbo, sports cat and remap = 400bhp and 400ft/lbs torque all for about £1600. That's my next target after I get my forged pistons done. John
  19. Yer knickers! WR Mica Blue:
  20. Sounds like you had bags loads of fun! For me that is what Impreza ownership is all about. Knockhill is a blast, you'd love it.
  21. I have had a couple of psots deleted without note. But on reflection, it was right that they should have been deleted. If posts are being deleted, then I have to look at myself as the cause for their removal. I don't see what moderators have to gain by "randomly" deleting posts. Perhpaps a note in the place of original post with a generic message might be more helpful, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. As for moderators giving reasons to the poster as to why their posts were deleted would add to their administrive "to do" list and I am sure it wouldn't end there. Contentious people would go on and on and on about it. As far as I am aware, these guys do this sort of thing for free. Give them a break and have a look in the mirror.
  22. Glad to hear that! With a few choice mods, the WRX can rival any STi for looks
  23. Looking nice man. A set of after-market rims would finish it off nicely. Oh aye, and a wee set of those eye-lid things for your head lamps.
  24. Ah the bearer of good tidings! Great news!!!! I called AndyF the day I got the test done and he was surprised that the compression test didn't show lower than it did and then suggested that the damage is minimal. I'm trying to get it done asap, waiting on quotes.
