Yeah, got all that. I noticed in the HU manual that there is a setting that you can change to determine whether the unit searches for only the strongest (local) stations or those in a more remote location. So I will check that that is set to the lowest on my way to work. Failing that, I'll make sure the ariel is all the way in. Cheers! J

Hi Colin. Can't mind what the brand was, but it was pure tat! I jsut stuff if with my wallet and phone and it doesn't look too bad. Yeah, ariel in the right place cause I am getting some channels and other come and go. It might not be in right, so I need to pull all that out again! ARGH!

I went against everyone's recommendations and bought from Halfrauds - sorry . Convenience more than anything else to be honest. Anyway, fitted the head unit myself along with a Halfrauds pocket. The pocket is cheap and nasty to say the least, but it does the job till I find a better solution. The things is, the speakers are actually OK with the new HU - Go figure! Still looking to upgrade these though. Can't really get much of a reception on the radio stations, any ideas? Thanks for the advice.

Aye, I have a third-cat delete pipe for sale. It's a custom made one from Meercat, quality stuff. I didn't go for the full decat though, just the sports cat which incorporated the 3rd cat and downpipe. Actually, in Hawkeye cars, it really ought to be called the 2nd Cat delete as there is no third cat; the uppipe is straight-through, unlike blobbies and buggies!

Well I went up to Halfords to buy a head unit and speakers and it turns out I need some kind of facia thing thing to make it fit. Of course, they didn't have that and it takes 5 days to come on special order! So I'm stuck with the crappy sound forever as I can't be a55ed waiting around in other bits, just don't have the patience.

Hi Folks As we all know, the standard sound system with the Impreza is utter mince to say the least. I'm not into listening to music much, but I do need an improvement on the standard guff. So, do I need to upgrade the head unit, or will some new speakers do the job? Cheeeeers!

So far it hasn't been much of a blessing! I got a week and one track day out of the more serious mods, so here's hoping it will last a bit logner this time. Dunno when my map date is, just waiting on Andy getting back to me. When I mentioned it to him a while back he said he'd be able to squeeze me in somehwere since the map has already been done and its just a matter of copying it over. How come you have nothing exciting to do lately? I'd have thought most of your time would have been taken up working in your resturant, no?

Na, dunno. I know a man that does though; Duncan at Hypertech. I am due back there for an oil change in the next couple of weeks, so I'll ask him then. I do belive that there is less camber, therefore less inner-tread wear. Of course the trade-off is less grip.
