  1. Well said John couldn't agree more, another good tip is smile nicely at them when your behind them at the next set of lights you never know it may make them realise that for all their haste they never real gained that much.
  2. Last time I used carparks like this was in Manchester about 15 years ago never even gave it a thought as I handed my keys over. Carparks I used seemed legit though gave you a small envelope with 10p to phone when you landed and got you to note the mileage on the envelope.
  3. Just got a set of F1's compared to Potenza's better in the wet and smoother ride but RE070 are better in the dry. Haven't tried Toyo's so can't comment. Best deal I found for Goodyears was at www.valuetyres.co.uk or mobile fitting www.etyres.co.uk.
  4. No plans to do knockhill but if I do would get a set of trackday wheels and get 2 part worn 070's as I'm keeping the two good tyres. Crail is a big possible for this year would be good to see what a standard STI would do(before mods - sshh don't tell the missus).
  5. Got a price from S & S £ 310 for two. Can get a set of 225 F1's for £345. Anyway going for a set of 235 F1's.
  6. Need two new tyres sticking with the 225/45/17 RE070's as other two are ok. Seemingly Bridgestone have 96 on back order and delivery isn't for 2-3 weeks. Anyone know of any for sale? If I can't get them I will get 4 F1's. Is it ok to go to a 235/45/17. I know JDM cars run 235 Bridgestones but was wondering about the Goodyears.
  7. Drive mine everyday for work, find your are less likely to get a wave Monday to Friday. More likely to wave to modified, big spoiler, well looked after or special editions both classic and newage. At the weekend I wave to all. Hopefully the non-beleivers will see the light. []
  8. Saw the WR1 at S & S today very nice was traded in for an RB320. Don't know who though.
  9. Got my 2.0 STI in September was told 1000 miles as well.
  10. Sorry to hear. Was looking forward to see in the car once it was at full speed.
  11. White and a power washer to keep it clean.
  12. At least with DRB5's car you know what you are getting and all mods have been done properly.
  13. I'm 35 and 6 years NCB, the range of quotes I got in September were from £700 to £2500 so its not just the younger driver.
  14. First White Hawkeye STI I've seen. Very nice.[]
  15. I get about 17 to the gallon but I worked out that I am sitting in traffic for 13.5 hours a month getting to and from work so might have something to do with it.
  16. Always remember seeing the GMC Typhoon and Syclone feature in Fast Car mag and being amazed at the performance from what I recall the quote was "Ferrari performance from a truck!". Nice.
  17. Try Alan at Motorsound (0141 649 9951) or Gordon at Sound Master Scotland in Barrhead (0141 876 1919).
  18. Arnold must be going soft in his old age.
  19. Good idea would be to go to a meet and hear some of the exhausts on the cars. Would give you an idea of noise level and note that would help your choice.
  20. Full Subaru Service History, regular oil changes and preferably owned by Scooby enthusiast. Will always may a difference when someone know how the car should be treated and looked after. Body warranty checks are also something you might want to check were done. If you see one you like ask about it on the forum its amazing some peoples knowledge of previously owned cars.
  21. Glasgow Pram Centre has a great range of seats and have found the are very reasonable priced. Also Mamas and Papas is worth a look at Glasgow Fort. Currently have two M&P's seats in the Scoob not Isofix but very secure when fitted and kids seem happy. Kids are 17 months and 3 1/2 years.
  22. Had a Sport before I got the STI. Great car, great road holding, special edition so looked the part but after about 8 months wished I'd got a turbo. After 18 months changed to the STI no regrets. Also resale of Sport is harder as most people want the performance of a turbo.
  23. Talk to a coachworks and see if you supply the doors what the will charge. Then you are only paying labour and spraying hopefully, cash in hand and save a bit more.
