  1. Why when anyone mentions Vauxhall and mechanics it never inspires confidence. Used Halleys 6 years ago for my Astra the were rubbish went back last year with my Scooby yet again rubbish. Had a vibration when you moved off, 50k on the clock. Answer "you sometimes get that with these cars nothing much we can do!" Read the forum FAQ's - Clutch. Talked to S & S mentioned the problem "aah, yes sir, that will be you clutch when would you like to book it in".
  2. Sorry if anyone is looking for stickers for Sunday but they sold out at the Glasgow meet(Karps, Ally-b has yours). Hats still available at £1 each. See me Sunday if you want one.
  3. Surely if we are going to have to pay more its only right we should get to drive fast?

  5. Not quite chavy enough for Maxpower need some neons or LED's behind just to get the corsa, saxo, etc that extra bling.
  6. Should have them for the meeting next Thursday. Will also be available morning of the Cruise. Same for the stickers.
  7. BLUE SANTA HATS Will have these available for Glasgow Santa Cruise. PRICE £1 (any extra money made will donated to next years Santa Cruise.)
  8. Been at the last 2 Glasgow meets (First was a chat/small run/pub and the second a chat at the pub/tunnel) and everyone was friendly and said hi. Going to meet a group of strangers that know each other can be daunting, but I think you have to introduce yourself and make the effort. What you have to remember is that we all have the same interest, some may be novices and others technical boffins, but we all love our cars.
  9. You just know some poor b**t**d will be take in by load of c**p.
  10. List of Glasgow area Santa Cruise attendees ... 1/Ally-b 2/Fai17 3/ imy 4/ squirrel 5/STI Pretender
  11. Stickers are for outside come in two strips, 50mm white lettering saying SCOTTISH SCOOBIES and SANTA CRUISE 2006 £4 for the pair. Will be available at the next Glasgow meet and if any left the morning of the cruise. Will PM Ally and see if he wants to get an idea of numbers incase we need more.
  12. Had a similar problem with the rear arches on a Honda, offset was wrong. Don't get the arches rolled can cause the paint to crack. Buchan Automotive in Glasgow sorted the problem by grinding the arches back to the spot welds and then heat sealing the edges with a rubber/bitumen compound. Most bodyshops will do this cost me £100.
  13. Got taken for a spin in a white RS 2000 when I was 16. Amazing! Probably the reason I like fast cars.
  14. Almost bought a Honda Civic from them years ago, luckily went to St Andrews paid more but car, service and aftersales was outstanding. For more Arnold clark horror stories try http://www.arnoldclark.worldonline.co.uk/e...otherspage.html
  15. If your talking about GaryD then he drives a Silver Bugeye was behind me on the Bridge. So the DCI is right again.
  16. Keep it on the road. Last year in the snow only two cars got out my street. My neighbour in this 4x4 and me in the scooby. Most of the neighbours tried and gave up.
  17. Used Motorsport World for a custom exhaust for my Civic 2 years ago and converted a WRX Peco exhaust for my GX Sport last year. Can choose your tail pipe and system pipe is formed using proper bending machine but don't know about performance gains and gas flow. Think Drivers in Glasgow also build customs.
  18. Have you not considered importing from the USA, have found in the past parts and mods cheaper even including shipping. Have seen the wheels on www.tiretrack.com and wheelstudio.com.
  19. Try confused.com or moneysupermarket.com they do the searching for you. Had quotes from £700 to £2570 best price I go was Elephant.
  20. Always been into cars started in Mini's with big engines moved on to Manta's. Then a succession of company cars Sierra's Honda's etc. Last on was quite good Astra Sri got a taste again for something fast. Birth of my daughter put pay to things as wife got a family car and I got her Honda Civic Coupe started modding that but just wasn't going to get the power I dreamed of. Coupe went when number 2 was on the way. Looked at 4 door cars but could see anything I liked hadn't considered an Impreza. Came across a GX Sport that looked the part. After about 3 months got bored started tinkering but again not enough power. Last month took the plunge and bought a pre-reg STI. No regrets enough power to keep me happy for now. But at the back of my mind I am thinking 300bhp would be nice.
