After advice on the post above i ended up going the non sandwich plate route which does give higher readings compared to sandwich plate. Looks like it is ok temp wise by what's being said on here. Thanks for the help guys

It's not a sandwich plate. Went the other option as it was meant to be more accurate. Via the bung in the top of the engine or something. Forgive my lack of technical knowledge. No idea what oil is in it which is another reason for wanting to do an oil change so I know it is good stuff that is used. I do get above 5mph you know lol

Was just after 4 laps baz but first time gill was driving then it happened to me as well.

Oil went above 110 degrees c but was more thinking about changing it since it has done some track time and wouldn't do it any harm. That would it would be getting changed twice a year which isn't too much I don't think.

Ok so after doing a couple of days at kames and with the car sitting on the drive mon-fri I thought I should really get the oil changed. Now I was thinking that whilst I was doing this I would see if it would be worth fitting a magnetic sump plug. I can't find much info on if they are worth it or not and wondered if anyone could help? Chris

Results are over on the post in the national events page Dave. We were beaten overall and the biggest bhp of the day way to a nice blue hawkeye from a member of .net with 585 or something like that. Chris

Can't believe we missed all the squeaky bottom moments. Was a great morning. Don't know what happened on my last shot out as there was burning rubber smell in the car when we parked up. Surely it wouldn't have been the brakes since I don't go fast lol

If you get a pax with me I will go slow enough apparently that you could walk round faster so you can get a good idea of the track ?that way you will keep dry if it is wet
