Thinking about getting a DV for MY01WRX but not sure what is the best to go for i have heard that XS are good but not sure any ideas anybody.

Stevie

On every turbo car i have owned ive stuck with Turbotechnics, they make a solid product, adjustable and high quality. you can go for a twin port, to give you both recirc and vented, a pure v-port like mine, or a trumpeted for really loud (read that as chav!) they also do a high end KOMPACT series now like their other range but smaller and more compact.

Ive tried Bailey, and wouldnt touch them as they fail easily.

HKS i just dont like, bit gimmiky

Do you want a DV for performance or just to make a pshht noise?

is it just me or  ?????

what performance?????

I had the HKS SSQV too and loved it,

cant remember what turbo you have on that model of car but after I fitted the 20g to my car I found out after that it could take the pressure of not having one fitted, giving you the WRC sort of sound, but that will need a remap to cope, just a thought

What does GFB stand for?

What problems can occur with fitting a non standard DV to a standard car. I realise this whole DV thing can be open to debate but apart from the 'chav' noise thing what benefits can be had. I had a Forge one on my P1 (just for the noise to be honest  ) and I felt the car to more jerky under acceleration.

HKS is that wee bit different to the 'normal' whoosh sound you get... its got a kinda metallic ping running through the whoosh at the same time, I'm not mad for Dumpvalves but have had a few over the years, and the only one I liked the sound of was the HKS.

Cheers,

Grant

I've bought a GFB unit for my GT-B. Still to be fitted as the engine is going back in soon - but it looks superbly made and is the unit that is electrically adjustable from iinside the car, so it can be as loud or as quite as you want.
