Which one is lighter?  

My v2 STi RA V-Limited versus the Squirrel’s v2 STi Limited?

To settle a debate and also raise funds for Santa Cruise, we thought it may be good to open this question to the forum.

We are going to weigh our cars to see what is lighter -  a bog standard STi RA or a modified STi with bits stripped out!

We will go to the local weigh bridge next month to get the cars weighed, both cars will be emptied of tools, shoes etc and will have a full tank of petrol.

Add your name against the car you think is lighter and if you lose we are asking for a £5 donation to Santa Cruise

We have profiled our cars below.

STi RA is lighter

I know there are more plus points for me but not surprisingly I have lost my trusty scooby adviser in this instance []

Hmm duno, your would be lightest out of the factory but squirrel has taken bits off and added a light weight bonnet so it`s a tough call [:S]

My car is stripped out hardcore spec with loads of lightweight mods against the Magic Tree equipped special edition.

just wanting to prove a point and hopefully show Squirrel that RAs are lighter, no matter how much you strip out your motor to lose weight []

Nothing underhand implied Imy, just meant that it may not be as obvious as it looks.  Wouldn't mind popping along if I'm free to see where the type r comes in too.

How come u guys have door pockets i got bloody light weight nets in the type r why aint the RAs got these.the nets r a real weight saver cause nowt stays in them lol.

Sounds like fun this, I'll stick a tenner in the fund regardless of outcome, but my money would be on the the Lady as Grant as only removed some girly lightweight stuff  (it's for a good cause).

 

Weigh bridges typically have a 20KG tolerance so be carefull

 

Just for info, Andy easily has the lightest car in Ecosse. I would think mine would come in second, unless anyone has been on a serious diet and has kept quite about it, I reckon it is currently 1015kg

is a discrepancy or dispute but he wouldnt tell me LOL

Daryll, light weight nets?  Guess door pockets wouldnt really suit a sleek 2-door Type R [*-)]

Clearly JohnSt has been smoking my Tobagan JPS,

On the scales with a full tank and all fluids topped off i got the "Red Shed" down to 1050kg.  This involved what could only be described as dangerous mods but the side exit exhaust saved a fair bit

The Little Lady comes with Electric Windows, unusual for a RA but they are present and correct.
