Nice one mate!

Ive just had front and rear drop links done on mine too.

I got the very same Whiteline kit that youve got there, but the front ones were different on mine

So I had to return it all and get them seperate instead.

They're on now though and it feels 'different'.

Also just got some nice new Toyo rubber for the fronts too.

Not fitted yet, but hopefully tomorrow or Sat morning...

LMAO @ "different"

do you not find the car has alot better turn in?

you will have the rose jointed ones on yours yes?

I have that type as standard too but Graeme and George at Whitline UK told me that the rose jointed ones can become noisey and that they use the solid ones on all thier own cars, road and track, so I took thier advice and got the solid ones

it is like torture walking into my garage at the moment, there is one pile of parts for the Scoob and another pile for Project X that I cant put on until it has passed the test

Not really driven it much as yet, had some steering bits done too and it actually feels a little heavier steering wise...

Yes, rose jointed, I think so aye...you know me mate, I wouldnt exactly make a good mechanic!

Might pop round sometime over the weekend after the Jurby shenanigans to look at "Project X"!

Well, spent all day Friday and most of Saturday fitting all my suspension goodies.

I had planned to take loads of work in progress pics but did not really have time, just cracked on to get it all done

Took the car to P.A.C.E. first thing on Friday morning, after a quick tidy up and moving of some rally cars my car was put up on the ramp

We got the front end done first, anti-roll bar, drop links, coilovers and anti-lift kit

DSC_0232.jpg

forgot to take a pick of the anti-lift kit B)

once the new parts were fitted on the front attention was then directed to the back

stripped off the old parts then also dropped out the rear diff and T-bar

the old diff and t-bar bushes were burned out and replaced with some nice new Powerflex ones

then we fitted the Whiteline rear anti-roll bar and drop links

DSC_0237.jpg

DSC_0239.jpg

also got the new tyres mounted

DSC_0240.jpg

this was as far as we got on the Friday

half eight Saturday morning and I was back to finish off

first job was to fit the rear coilovers, then to make sure everything was nipped up properly

put the wheels back on and dropped it to the deck, it sat ok at the front but the rear was a little hight so back up it went, wheels back off and an adjustment of about 20mm was made to the rear

the ride height was now acceptable, so a quick adustment of the camber was made then a quick run round the yard was made to try and settle the suspesion a bit, back into the garage and more adjustments were made to the camber along with the wheel alignment sorting out

took the car out for a run along some back roads then back to the garage for more checking

eventually we settled on the following

Front - two deg neg camber with a bit of toe out

Rear - three quarters of a deg of neg camber and a little toe in

as most of you know I do not use the car everyday so did not need to play safe with a road set up, the turn in with the above settings is unbelievable

the car feels so much more positive on the road and gives you so much confidence, the anti-lift kit works a dream too, makes a huge difference

only downer is that the rear arches catch the tyres now that is next on the to do list

cant wait to get it back on the track though

Big thanks to Ian @ P.A.C.E for his time, help and use of the ramp

More thanks go to Graeme @ Whiteline UK for supplying the coilovers, anti-roll bars, drop links and anti-lift kit

Yes mate it sure was, what with fitting this lot and having to take Project X to the test centre again on Saturday before finishing off the Scoob

Had a lazy day on Sunday though B)

Dropping off the Scoob first thing tomorrow morning to CC Automotive to have the arches done, hopefully they can roll them without needing paint but the price they gave me if it does need paint work is pretty good so we will see

Could be without the car for half a day or 2 days depending on if it needs paint or not, keep your fingers crossed

well, dropped the car off this morning to have the arches done, they said I should have it back saturday morning at the latest, hopefully they have no problems

here are a couple of pics taken last night after the suspension mods

GUTTED!!!!!

When a car has an argument with a wall the car will always come off worst. Luckily, or not so luckily I have not had the repair bill for it yet, but it was a dry stone wall so the wall took most of the impact force and saved me from a hell of alot more damage.

Got the old girl back to the house this afternoon and proceeded to strip it this evening with the halp of Dave K, thanks again Dave.

looking at this I am gonna have to fit a catch tank when rebuilding the car to prevent the oil from going into the new front mount intercooler when fitted

in the words of Arnie, "I'll be back!!!"

will keep you all posted on the progress

Cheers for the comments folks, it means alot. I am having a serious down day today, I think it has finally hit home what has happened and how much work it is gonna take to sort

I had a call this afternoon about the jig work, the fella went out to look at the car and said it is gonna be about £600 to pull it straight. Its gonna work out to about £700 (give or take) for most of the parts required for rebuilding the front end plus a new FMIC and then painting

Starting to wonder if I should consider buying another car and transfer all the parts over to it from the red one

another possibility I thought of was to turn it into a serious long term project by buying a bare shell and build myself the scoob I always dreamed of owning, kinda think I am too impatient for that though :D

anyway, providing it does not rain this evening (which it looks like it may) I am gonna try to carry on stripping the front end and get the engine ready for taking out

one of my mates planted the seed in my mind to do an engine rebuild while it is out :P

Got on with taking the engine out today :)

Dave K came round early doors after dropping his Mrs off to work and after a couple of bacon baps and a cup of tea we got to it

first was to de-plumb and disconnect, also removed alternator and power steering resevoir

DSC_0281.jpg

next was the bit I was not really looking forward to, cutting some of the twisted front end off

DSC_0287.jpg

DSC_0290.jpg

Top section off

DSC_0298.jpg

and the bottom

DSC_0300.jpg

it all has to come off anyway and it made it much easier to get the engine out

then the craine was moved in

DSC_0302.jpg

after alot of swearing and a couple of cups of tea we realised I had left a bolt in and thats why it would not come out, so we finished our tea and removed the bolt and guess what? the engine came out :D

DSC_0306.jpg

we then removed all the wiring loom and electrics from the wings

DSC_0307.jpg

so there we have it, I have pretty much decided to try and repair her so I just need to put the wheels back on and it is pretty much ready to go off for pulling straight, more cutting and new bits welding on

and now for the pics of the bent bits
