Since the start almost, got the mags from the 1st issue.

And been doing the track days with John S since 1998 I think.

John, Myself and Tut are the originals from Knockhill. Seen plenty of faces come and go since then.

'the original imprezas at knockhill were the 2 green ones with gold 17''speedline chronos'

Grant Swan(AWD)and myself, march 1996,and everyone used to think they were protons! It was amazing that very few people knew what they were,i was at ultimate fast car that year and pulled a 13.8 1/4 out the bag much to the disgust of the cossy boys, the only impreza to go up the 1/4 all weekend.

Gav,

I didn't think JohnS organised SIDC Track days back in 1996, I'm sure John started when he has his Terzo and that was '98. Was that maybe a hot hatch day - when they were still sensible with decent cars and not banger racing as it is now. First went to Crail with Grant in '97, he bought his Catalunya the same time as I got my new UK Turbo.

Your right Dougie, only done 2 track days this year. That's because the JDM STi has been retired after 4years of track days to a more sedate life - maybe. Can't complain though it's done bloody good, never missed a beat and I can't think of a single Subaru in all that time that's been quicker.

But I won't be retiring, got a Type Ra now purely for track days. A totally stripped out diet, AP 6 pots, GAB/HKS Coilovers, and a fair bit more power.

I actually found my original membership card whilst clearing out some stuff this weekend. I'm member number 43, and that would have been around summer 97 I think.

David is correct in that the first SIDC track event I organised at Knockhill was in 1998, not lng after I got my Terzo. We've done about 4 or 5 a year ever since.

1998 was the first year we ran the Tour d'Ecosse as well - and that first one was a very memorable event, with lots of people coming up from the South to take part including Pete Croney in Ander's 22B.

Some of the guys from the early days still keep in touch, and sometimes make an appearance at KH just to watch or catch up with people.
