scoobaroo Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Had a good day at Ingilston, G-Mac made a late appearance at the start which meant i wasnt the only Scoob running. We seemed to be getting quicker as the day wore on and got to grips with the track layout, hope something like this is added to the SIDC calendar for next year as we had great fun [] Can hopefully post up some times when theyre available. Thanks also to the vocal Subaru supporters [H] who came along to give us some encouragement [Y], and watch some very quick cars [au] Marty.
craig mac Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I hope you scalped them at Ingilston m8 Coz i did plenty scalping at Crail Till my CEL Came on.........[:'(] Car is home ok and will be in to get checked the morn I was beaten twice out of 8 runs, both to Kevametal in His WELL SORTED ex Mr F Car, Much respect[] CraiG Oh and totally embarresed an FQ 360 on the way home PMSL[]
st3ph3n Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Craig, beaten by a faster car or a quicker driver?!?!? [] MLR sprint was great fun and I was ITCHING to get on. Some of the evos were properly sorted. Very nice machinery indeed. The couple running anti-lag sounded utterly fantastic.
david_taylor Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Was there for a couple of hours this morning. Take it yours was the black subaru surrounded by lots of evos? Had to shoot off at 12, but there were some really nice cars. Have to admit, I liked the evo FQ500! Dave
craig mac Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Quote Craig, beaten by a faster car or a quicker driver?!?!? [] CraiG beaten by a quicker car no question, and no shame, 400ft/lb new age WRX [] However i will return[][] CraiG
sheep Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Enjoyed Ingilston a lot today as stephen said there were some very sorted evo's there. Had to leave at lunch time though so didnt get to enjoy the whole day but it would be great to do something like this next year.
z1000 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Popped in 4 a wee while and the red popin and bangin evo sounded great plus there were some pretty quick motors.
gus the bus Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Good day today and nice to drool over Arbroath Smokies 22b hope the marks come oot[]. Pure Class Ian[Y] and nice to meet the Mrs too[]. Marty and G certainly didnt let us down[] Good to see the regular crew in attendance EVO's pah[][]
G.Mac Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Had a great day, a must for us to get something like this sorted for SIDC, only found out that there was a place left after the practice!!!!! My times Run 1 68.23 Run 2 63.53 Run 3 62.61 Run 4 61.60 I recon If I had been there for the practice session and had my Bridgestones on rather than my clapped out Goodyears I would have made it sub 60s The fastest car there was an evo with about a 56 or 57 sec lap, but I still managed to beet a fair few of the opposition, even got a comendation from the FQ500 driver who was supprised at how well my overweight newage was!!. I enjoyed this far more than Knockhill!!!, a must get for us Graeme
gus the bus Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 56.33 was the fastest lap of the day. Yer runs were improving G. The last one looked seriously quick I'm sure the MLR timekeepers added a few seconds just so you n Marty didnae embarras them[] Gus
Russs Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Quote Oh and totally embarresed an FQ 360 on the way home PMSL[] Was it black Craig? Just i know of a IX that was heading home tonight your way. It's only done 150 miles, so he isn't going over 4500rpm! An ex STI9 owner too.....

Yes it was black Russs and he was doing alot more than 4500rpm when I was glud to his bumper []
RobbieS Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Good day out which was well run, would be good to have an Evo v's Scoob shootout for future events.
craigwrx Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 It was very enjoyable afternoon i must say, some very well sorted Evo's where present for sure. Most impressed with Graeme and Marty (no particular order) they where for sure giving it some beans, i had my stopwatch out and they where both getting quicker and quicker, well done chaps, you certainly never let us down [y] [y] Craig []

He was most certainly well over 4500 rpm as Phil says Russs,[] Regardless, His STI9 obviously was not as well sorted as my one[][] CraiG
Russs Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hmmm, if it was the same one, I'll give him a bollocking tomorrow! Fair play to you two SIDC guys who entered. It was all very good natured, and I'm sure everyone, without exception, enjoyed it. It would probably need a very well sorted, light, short geared scoob, with a particularly good driver to be anywhere near some of the times today. I certainly couldn't get near them, but I did manage to save face beat all the scoobs this time! Not sure Craig Mac would've fared much better either, although I'm sure he would've had a damn good try. It was so tight and twisty (all 1st and 2nd gear) that power cars were not particularly well suited.

iain_spink Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Thought I'd get in a few more of these running- in miles on the car today so I rumbled through to Ingliston and enjoyed an afternoon spectating. Was good to meet some of the names I see on here each night (Gus and Stephen)and watch some scoobs in action. Some of those Evos were very very quick (sound crap though!) The yellow one parked behind the times tent was particularly stunning. I'm quite sure this type of event would be very popular if the SIDC were to organise one of our own. Cheap to enter, easy to run, nothing to hit, not too hard on the car, and as competitive as you want to make it. I'm sure we could to manage to borrow or hire some timing gear somewhere and get this organised for next year?
fai17 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Had a great time there and talking alot of crap as usual. The MLR did great to get this sort if event organised and the SIDC will defo need a few like this next year. Welldone to Marty and G.Mac for putting a great fight for the club and the banter was great. The red EVO 9 with anti lag sounds the mutts nuts... I really need to get this sorted (anti lag)for my Scoob..what do you think St3ph3n?
steve_shaw Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Well done Marty !!....Sorry i was late! yesterday was a blur ...got the shop on the mile done tho,so all was not lost.....and as for your run m8 ........i know how capable a driver you are and that you CAN PUT YER MONEY WHERE YER MOUTH IS......lol. .well as long as its light hearted fun hehe . you take care and i see you soon.....Steve.
