R32 golf was overtaking cavalier and Celica on the back straight when he ran wide onto the grass sending him across the track collecting the 2 others. no hot hatchers were harmed in the making of this crash[:P]

No i wasnt near it, i was getting pax laps with Andy in the xr2 so was standing in the pits at the time.

KH have changed the rules for HH days mainly due to the Team Gimps videos on streefire.net[;)] no overtaking between duffus and the chicane which makes it pretty crap for spectators and drivers.

Cool pics Col

R32 looks highly tweaked and is wearing Toyo R888 rubber. Makes me wonder if there was a cold / greasy tyre issue !?

Teams Gimps have a lot to answer for with their automotive " horseplay" [:^)]

As soon as you go on track your insurance in out the window unless you have specific track day cover. Celica was the only road car involved, the others were trailered track motors.

I saw that car on friday at Meercat getting the hard pipe kit made up for the intercooler.

Spoke to the guy called Tony and he was at the 2nd last SIDC knockhill day with a EVO 7 extreme..

This is what puts me off going on track! :P

I've seen you drive John. You'd clear the tyre wall before you landed [;)]

the r32 is just out of bedrock veedubs, was being made super charged!

the r32 was bought brand new and stripped and turned into a track car, never seen the road. according to a mate of mines who is close to him

owned by a guy called davie who owns diamond tints the window tinting company in glasgow

Not True mate , the car is owned by tony who had the Evo Extreme as has been said , was nothing to do with davie from diamond tints bar the advert on the side of it ...

as for the cause The celica hit the rear quarter of the golf causing the full accident.

That's wierd. I missed that track day - the first one I've missed this year as I was heading North on Sunday for a weeks surveys. I saw the VW being towed home about tea time and saw it was in a real mess. The guy never struck me as being a nutter from any of the other track days and it drives it home that accidents do happen and they can happen to anyone.

Despite what you guys may think, accidents like that are few and far between on the Hot Hatch days. Team Gimps are also legends.
