  1. Cheers, I was asking as I have really struggled to shift mine: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=117366 Yours looks nice - enjoy!!
  2. What did you pay for the Scoob if you don't mind me asking?
  3. Red top engine, if so, then with all you have said - I would say STi...
  4. Yeah, was down at S&S on Thursday. They did not have any however suggested they would be in the region of £100....
  5. My God, what shocking and deeply sadening news. I will personally remember him driving a white cossie on the Scottish Rally - we saw him when I was a wee boy on a long climb onto a massive straight. The speed (and noise) were UNBELIEVABLE. He was simply a cut above the rest with balls of steel. I was in awe of him. This is my memory of him - a true legend. Thoughts go to all the friends and relations. RIP big man...
  6. For my 18" PFF7's. I am after the ones off the WR1 i.e. silver ones with a 'P' in the middle, just like the ones in the attached link. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Prodrive-Whee...bayphotohosting
  7. As an ex-trolley boy employee at ASDA(part time job befor I qualified,) I can confirm that we were only allowed to push 10 trolleys and that they must be strapped in. That was before the days of £1 trolleys that do not need £1. I think that some of the trolleys do not need £1 though. So, if you had a photo of the trolleys, you may have a case. I once hit a Lada!!! They are usually good with claims like that anyway. I did not know S&S had a paintshop..........
  8. I remember getting booked for speeding a year or two ago. The policeman gave me a telling off and explained he had been at a fatal road accident the day before involving 'one of those' cars. In fairness, I did take it easy for the next week or so. Some cops do let the power go to their head, however there are a few decent ones. I just let them have their say and bite my lip most of the time. On the subject of WPC's, I prefer the dark haired ones!!
  9. That's wierd. I missed that track day - the first one I've missed this year as I was heading North on Sunday for a weeks surveys. I saw the VW being towed home about tea time and saw it was in a real mess. The guy never struck me as being a nutter from any of the other track days and it drives it home that accidents do happen and they can happen to anyone. Despite what you guys may think, accidents like that are few and far between on the Hot Hatch days. Team Gimps are also legends.
  10. Apparently this is a bit of a grey area, some say yes, some no. Basically the tubes on either side of the axle which rotate to allow the rear suspension to operate (torison bars) sieze with age as they become ovalled due to wear and tear/ rust etc. Edited to say: I bought the car in February 2006 with the existing MOT (new format) and the beam was seized back then so in this instance, it was not an MOT failure. Notwithstanding, you can pick up a second hand refurbished beam on e-bay and fitting is as I say, relatively easy: http://www.205gtidrivers.com/articles.php?...=b-rearbeamswap This of course assumes that it is indeed an MOT failure. Depending on what you use the car for, you may chose to get it repaired. It is very stiff for road use.
  11. Due to the arrival of our first baby in March 2007, I have finally decided to sell my trackcar.Details are as follows: 1988 (E) Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi (Phase 1.5) Gunmetal grey MOT’d till 21st November 2006 Tax’d till December 2006 120,000 miles Donor engine from Citreon BX GTI/ Peugeot 405 SRI – 1900cc, 8 valve injection with more torque than standard 1.9 GTi and same torque (to 5000 RPM) as an Mi16 Peco backbox Induction kit New Greenstuff front brake pads Clear front indicators Fully stripped internally Brand new tracking control arm, radiator, rear wheel bearings, rear brake cylinder, Yokohama tyre (receipts available) Current owner for 8 months I have been up at most of the Hot Hatch days this year and can honestly say that the car has been cheap, reliable and loads of fun. It is road legal and surprises quite a few GTi's, GTE's & XR2's. Remember this car has hardly any weight, plenty power and loads of torque. The only downside is that the rear beam needs refurbished (as all of these cars generally do.) This is a relatively easy job that I have been meaning to do however have simply not got round to it. It has not stopped me participating in the Hot Hatch days as all it really means is that the rear suspension has little or no travel which gives it Go-Kart like handling!!! Haynes workshop manual included £375 ONO 0141 620 2168/ 07920 019 196 If you are genuiunely interested, please contact me on the number(s) above or stephen.pope30@ntlworld.com http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0008.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0007.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0006.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0005.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0002.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0001.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...I/DSCI0010.jpg
  12. So I take it AWD is in Perth then. Not too bothered about travelling in terms of fuel costs - I have a shell company fuel card!!!
  13. My car got a fast road geometry set up by TSL motorsport by the previous owner a year or so ago. It must be out now as my front tyres are wearing unevenly (inner shoulders wearing excessively, probabl;y due to excessive negative camber?) I understand that they will wear in this way however I am sure a re-setting of the geometry would not go amiss (I have a print off of the settings by TSL.) So where is the best place to go - I am in the south side of Glasgow. Someone recently mentioned AWD Motorsport? Thanks in advance guys.

  15. Cheers guys - I have always fancied taking the Scoob on but generally always just use my Pug on Hot Hatch days. Do you guys bother with track insurance for the SIDC trackdays?
  16. As the post above suggests. When I use my Pug 205 GTI, I go as follows: Main straight, up to and including 4th gear Brake and down to third for first right hand corner. Stay in third gear until I reach the back straight, when I pop it into 4th again, then braking, third, second for the hairpin and back onto the main straight, 2nd, 3rd and up to 4th and back to where i started. i.e. 6 changes (I think!!!) What would I be doing in my Subaru? STi8 with 6 speed box (and 330 bhp!!!)
  17. Man, I was just about to post this thread as well!!! Check this out: Fresh footage from last weekend!!! I am the Peugeot 205 in front of Team Gimps at the begining of the footage (having passed them on the straight.) In the first video at the begining of this post, my brother was driving our 205 when we were nearly taken out by Team Gimp!!! To be honest, they are both cracking lads!!!
  18. I'll second that - mine is doing it again - need toget it to the garage
  19. I have always used S&S and found them to be excellent. They offer 10% SIDC discount as well. Call me paranoid, but if a cam belt snaps, the engine is knackered. I would rather get the dealer to do it. Peace of mind and all that. Depends on what you are getting done. As an example, S&S provided me with a quote for powder coating my wheels and replacing two tyres. I considered them to be expensive so went elsewhere, however there are advantages such as peace of mind and FSSH to consider as well. Just my opinion.
  20. Probably everyone on here has had the same thoughts at some stage, albeit not with a scoob. Mine costs a fortune on the loan and a fortune on fuel (for my boss as I have a fuel card.) At the end of the day though, they are worth every penny. Let's just hope you do not realise this when it's too late. Let's face it, they are expensive and we must always be prepared and have a few bob set aside for repairs.
  21. Classic story!!! My Dad was heading home yesterday (Newton Mearns) up the M77 - Saturday morning. He saw a WR Blue STI8 (MY03/ 04) coming up behind him and assumed it was me (mine is an MY04.) In true fashion, he then unwound his window and proceeded to greet the Subaru owner (who he thought was me) with a nice vicky!!! Get this - the Subaru driver waved back (cheers) and so he then thought it must have been me. So he slipped his automatic into 'sports mode' and proceeded to floor it up the Sterwarton Road, over the 'yump' and towards the roundabout. Eventually, he turned off the road and into his street and became confused when the Subaru driver did not follow. It was then that the penny dropped!!! So, sorry on his behalf and cheers for waving at him as it would have made his day!!!
  22. A great day! Jodie Marsh is a minger (still would though!) Those lapdancers were munters (says God.) I was in my 205 on the track - between my brother and I we only got 5 heats which was cr@p - loads of offs (not us) and general delays. Best modified car went to a scoob STI8 with silver PFF7's - lovely. Also, followed a nice red classic WRX with gold wheels up (in my scoob) - very nice! Good track driving and an all round day all the same, even if it did not rain, which I prefer (easier on the car!!!)
  23. You think ?? [] Pug 205 every time [] Yip, nothing else for it!!! http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?
