mctwistuk Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Some pics from tonight. Do you think the table will still be there tomorrow?
ed-209 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 It was a good meet, well done ally. The table should make it to tomorrow I think it will finish burning somewhere about sunday. Ed PS. Big thanks to everyone who did the BBQ and let everyone tuck in Makes you proud to own a scooby (wiping away tears).
mctwistuk Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 You guys should have come back along the military road along the loch. Its a fantastic drive and no other cars in sight. you turn right in Arrochar.
st3ph3n Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Was a fine evening indeed. My burgers have yet to make a return appearance so they must have been cooked well. Well done to Big Davie and his missus, probably more his missus, for bringing half of somerfield, and Imy for bringing the other half. Ed, Al, pleasure to have had a wee jaunt with you two. I'm sure my speedo saw 70! Flamin' erskine cutoff was shut and I missed the first detour. Then the M8 was shut at the kingston so had to go round the longway. Bastarts.
the squiggle Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 My token snap of the Rest and be Thankful Top meet, good banter and good to meet some new faces. Had to take advantage of a beautiful glen, some cold air and set up the gain on the boost controller Love the second picture of AlanG's weapon sitting high on the brow I must say not many Subaru meets take place with such a stunning backdrop. Nice start Peter, now take the rest of the morning off.

bigdavie Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 aye was really good me and tracy enjoyed ourselves ! well done ally ! and really nice to put a few faces to names !! although my burger has since made me feel a wee bit queasy !! but i only have myself to blame for that !!
colin_ross Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Due to work commitments this was my first meet of the year but it was a corker. Good to see so many new faces (maybe thet're not new as I've not been around) and some old faces too. BTW, was it just me or dd anyone else notice the large number of classic tonight? Old skool rules!
mrbadger Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Yes, enjoyed it... Probably gonna get all the names wrong for the next month.... I'm useless with names. Again good to put names to faces, and cars to names. I can't beleive my battert in my alarm ran out. It worked with Big Davies tip of warming it up under my armpit! You are a very friendly bunch. Enjoyed the burger very much. Thank you! In trouble with the Mrs now.. I better go (as I said about 20 times when I was there!) mrbadger Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Luckily I sell the batteries at work Only thing is I gotta take my car in for a service tommorrow - so the mechanic is gonna have fun! Anyone get a picture of my wagon? Thanks again to all... Specially the organisers and those who bought the bbq's for warmth - oh yeah and for cooking.
ally-b Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Thanks for the great turn-out for my first meet as R.O. ... I'd have stood on the table and made a speech - but it was burning [] The standard of cars tonight was unbelievable - I think every model was represented , apart from the '06 ... and then FFS a random '06 that was passing drove into the car park [] I can't guarantee that every meet will have such a fine scenic backdrop , as good a turn-out , such good weather , and no midges. . . . . . . I believe that the 'Big-man' up there got a tip-off about our meet tonight - R.I.P Ken275 . Thanks everyone Al.
colin_ross Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 good weather , and no midges. . . . Thats because they're plastered all over the front of my car. I may even have to wash it [:'(]
micra_wrc Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 BTW, was it just me or dd anyone else notice the large number of classic tonight? Old skool rules! i noticed that too! c'mon the classics imy
billyboy Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Good first meeting Ally. I didn't have a bbq but i sure do stink of it[]
AlanG Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 First time ive been to a meet for a long long time due to work clashing with dates. [:$] Nice laid back evening and in a setting which is hard to beat. How cool was having the car park all to ourselves?? [] Did the tourists know we were coming? [] Good turnout. While the summers here, how about thinking of other venues for a meet? I mean, look at the pictures, says it all really, don't get much better than this. [] Looking forward to a trip round the track in Wilkys car next time we meet up after our chat last night, cheers. Playsatans cars' going well too.. nice. [] See ya'all again.
thewelsho Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Looks like every one had a great time, wish I could have been there but had to go to a 21st! Hopefully next time! John
Gumball Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Nice one!!! I see Mr Whippy and the big white ice cream van made it too [][] i also see that he had a blanket round him like a hom. was that to blend in with the mexicans or to make sure his pee pee didnt get cold when he sat down to pee? robert drinkers
PECO Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 It was my first meet and had a great time, everyone was really friendly and banter was good! I can still smell smoke / burned picnic table - worked a treat with the midges though! My car is a standard newage and last night the classics definately ruled, 2 in particular were so fast I thought I had accidentially put my car in reverse! [] Cheers.
