Fee Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Took the corsa and the impreza up to crail today... Both cars struggled a bit for grip I had my first shot on the handling track with my car. The impreza was a bit slidy on the sprint track...quite a lot of understeer but the bum was easy to catch an control Adam managed to snap the throttle cable on the corsa whilst on it the bodge repair (as usual!! ) meant that I couldnt get full throttle and that it idled at 3k revs Doh! Dont think the car was affected by the lack of full throttle too much. The corsa has a better time in it...he should have let the pressure in the front tyres down a bit to help grip. there's still a bit more weight to come out as well and the remap to come... so all in all...not too bad for 185BHP Times Corsa RT 2.22 60ft 2.291 TV 101.1mph ET 13.944 RT 2.324 60ft 2.271 TV 100.9mph ET 13.936 RT 0.585 60ft 2.284 TV 101.1mph ET 13.908 Best RT - 0.174 (done by me ) Adam's was 0.305 Best 60ft - 2.270 Best TV - 101.4 Best ET - 13.908 Impreza RT 0.213 60ft 2.1 TV 106.4 ET 13.449 RT 0.227 60ft 2.028 TV 104.9 ET 13.426 RT 0.106 60ft 2.024 TV 106.1 ET 13.346 Best RT - 0.064 Best 60ft - 1.906 (done by Adam ) my best 2.024 Best TV - 106.4 Best ET - 13.346 I'm pretty happy with that...an improvement on my last time [] Thank you Colin (I think that's your name, but if not sorry! I've got it into my head that that is your name!!!) for telling me how to launch it properly...I was doing MUCH better by the end once I had remembered to change gear before redlining...switch the diff to open and look where I'm going!!! video... the second part is with the camera in the corsa....you cant really see much but you can hear it http://media.putfile.com/Crail-23 http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9815250393.avi direct link to video. right click, save as and some pics

raddish Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 What was the outcome between silver mk1 impreza and motorbike?
Fee Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Na....they only seemed to race each other...I think they were there for some charity events...giving some kids a few passenger runs
paddy247 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Looks like a good day, and not to buzy from the pics, loads of runs[]
Gumball Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 looks like a great day, great turnout of white corsa's and scoobies[]
fai17 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Good weather for a bit of sprinting...and not too busy either.
STi_Bandit Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Looks like it was a good day nice weather, wish i had gone excuse to really but the stamp of death on the tyres well then they would be slicks, maybe next time. Martin
johnnyr6 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Raddish... funnily enough the bike won Fee.. your correct his name is Colin who was a bit miffed he couldn't run but with the engine only showing 200 miles and filled with crap oil there was no way i was letting him run it today. Well done to Scot (coulty's bro) who posted a 14.7 in his 1.3 polo (unfortunately blew the gearbox at the same time).
Fee Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 I'd be gutted sitting there with a big new engine in my car and not being able to do anything with it!!!
Big Daz Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Why were you struggling for grip? Is the strip still covered in crap? [:@] At least it doesnt look too busy to not too long queues then? I think I will take Puggy to the next non mag day for a try out Daz
Fee Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Someone spilt something on the start line for one of the lanes...so they just dumped a load of cement dust down on it....meant that it was really hard to get grip the other lane was still pretty slidy too though....
Adam Kindness Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Damn 4wd!!! IQY 13.673 sec 0.248 sec 1.887 sec 101.1 mph Left lane ADAM K 13.908 sec 0.585 sec 2.284 sec 101.1 mph Right lane Fee - see.... your 60ft times are about 0.2 higer than IQY's!!!! sort it out
Fee Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 hehehe! Still got some practicing to do obviously lol
MY94 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Quiet day with a blue sky, looks like u got some decent times in too......good pics and video. Cheers
johnnyr6 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 hold the revs steady at 5 to 6 k then as the lights change dump the clutch and nail it, need good tyres though, as colins car spins all 4 wheels for the first 40 feet (cheap crap tyres).
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Raddish - Unfortunately the motorbike did indeed get the better of me in the end, although for a while i was in the lead and almost believed i may pull of the impossible [] Adam - Ever thought about an upgrade to a scooby for some 4wd bliss [] Still a very respectable time of 13.9, i remember that was what my scooby was doing prior to the remap so not bad at all. Was annoyed about that last run as i miss shifted into 4th and given the 1.887s 60ft time it could have been a sweet run, maybe one day i will learn how to drive!! [] Fee - My 60ft time for the run that you mentioned was actually 0.4s quicker, hehehehe [] JonnyR6 were you driving the grey scooby that was roasting me on the strip?
colin_ross Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I don.t think you'll be needing any more tips from me Fee as knocking almost half a second of your personal best is a fantastic result. Tell me, did you even get beat once??? When the decat goes on you'll be in the 12's easy. It was a real struggle not to put in on the strip but the next time things will be different. As for my tyres, engine and all the other excuses I had for not running on Sunday....well that'll all be taken care of by the end of the month. Hopefully. Iqy - I'm afraid I don't know who was in the Cool Grey Type R but Johnny was up with me (a.k.a. Colin) in the other black Type R.
Fee Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Oh don't!!! I had just decided for definite not to get a full decat just now....and then you go and say something like that LOL The guy in the grey TypeR was Kenny....not sure if he's on here though
johnnyr6 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 As colin said i left my car at home, with him running his in and mine hitting fuel cut all the time i thought it was better to leave it at home. Next time
