  1. I don't know what to say that hasn't been said already......but for me he was the most exciting sports man on the planet! We're all going to die,but some never live!Colin lived enough for two lifetimes so don't be sad and celebrate his life!
  2. Story.......... I'm moving house over the next 10 days to a very rural location...so when my car started to act up Yesterday my heart sank as I NEED my car working over the next couple of weeks. So I phoned Grant to explain my situation and he was more than helpful.Fitted me in today and even stayed open late to get my motor back on the road.I'm a loyal customer @ AWD and was hoping he could help me out. So when Grant went out his way to help me today I was so happy............it wasn't a straight forward job and Kev really did himself proud!(sorry about the late lunch because of me!) So Credit where credit is due and a gold star for services beyond the call of duty! Thanks again to all involved, Niall
  3. Stunning..........really like this alot!
  4. I had the same problem with my Scoob, one set of Toyo's and some Whiteline drop links and front/rear ajustable sway bars(or whatever their called)..........you have now cured said problem;-) Drop links are cheap to upgrade and worth doing IMHO.
  5. http://www.awdmotorsport.co.uk/index.php?page=servicing_sub AWD do a standard replacement clutch and fitting for £450.I recently got a upgraded one fitted there and if thats what ur after then give them a call! It's a few hours labour to replace the clutch and your best getting ur flywheel skimmed at the same time(or a new shinny ligher one),which AWD can also sort out for u. Cheers
  6. Just dropping a quick thank you to Grant & Andy @ AWD for checking over my car today. Thanks again for all your help...........CHEERS!
  7. Yes,got these on mine and what a difference they make,........plus Geo let me take a spin in his motor last AWD open day thingy,......and hopefully will again at the next one;-)
  8. Run your car on Vpower M8!!! Watch this fifth gear clip and remember that v-power is a higher rating than optimax ...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smLkmCRl6n0 Your car will ajust itself after a tank or two, only downside is cost.
  9. I live in Edinburgh too M8,but I travel to AWD in Perth for any work to my car.I've always been happy with their work and have been going there for over three years. Cheers.
  10. Just dropping a quick thanks to Andy,Pete,Kev and Grant at AWD for all their help the last couple of days. Thanks again lads, Cheers for now, Niall

  12. Breather system The original PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation)system does indeed do some good for the engine by ensuring the corrosive gasses are removed from the crankcase and replaced by fresh filtered air. The Subaru system has two main phases depending on manifold pressure/vacuum. Under manifold vacuum conditions (probably 99% of the engines life) there is a non return valve under the throttle body, which allows the 'blow by' vapours to be drawn into the manifold. The vapours are replaced from the vents on the cam covers, supplied from the inlet duct. This provides the circulation of air through the engine, prevents condensation, oil contamination and internal corrosion. This is indeed a good thing and there is a strong case to retain this system if the car is a daily driver. Under positive manifold boost conditions, the non return valve under the throttle body closes and the hot 'blow by' gasses (Note - 'blow by' tends to be a cool vapour at low power but a hot gas at high power) are re-routed via a 't' piece to the intake duct for reconsumption by the engine. The cam cover vents may also vent out during this phase. This is where you can get oil suspended in the gasses finding its way into the induction system......this is a bad thing ! The oil coats the intercooler, reducing efficiency and causes premature det due to lowering the octane of the fuel. It is possible to 'catch' the suspended oil in a 'catch can' This is a reservoir deigned to reduce the velocity of the gasses, allowing the oil to fall out of suspension. The oil collects in the bottom of the can and the oil free gasses carry on to be either reconsumed by the engine or vented to atmosphere. The catch can will ideally intercept all 3 vent lines although the main culprit on the Subaru would appear to be the central crankcase vent. The return of gasses from the catch can is also the subject of some debate. If the gasses are reintroduced to the intake system then you are asking the engine to burn an oxygen free mix ! ie you are reducing slightly the amount of oxygen fed into the engine, this can only mean less power. I personally prefer to vent to atmosphere and block off the return to the intake system. There are concerns that this is not very 'green' however the vented gasses are just of the same constitution as your exhaust gasses (assuming you have a decat exhaust) TAKEN FROM ANDY F'S WEBSITE!!
  13. Quality.........I'd feel a little silly dragging JB from a set of lights.......MY OTHER CARS AN F1!
  14. There's alot of idiots on the roads(although some might put me in that class too!). I was driving along near my house tonight and was going within the limit. This idiot girl with her M8's in the car came up the back of me,flashed a couple times, then undertook me nearly mounting the pavement. However, there is a Gatso on the very same road 300 meters further down, which flashed her doing about 60 in a 30.I caught up with her at the next set of lights where I informed here of her impending 3 points and £60 if she's lucky. She said "your a liar, there wasn't no camera"(swear words edited)...........anyways I hope she enjoys the points and fine(silly cow!).
  15. Yor MAF is dead by the sounds of it.Same symptoms I had and it was the MAF............I'd be 99% sure thats your problem!Get this checked ASAP & don't try driving in the meantime as you have an increased chance of creating problems.A MAF isn't a wallet killer, but a blown engine is! (MAF=mass air flow/the big black plastic thing on the left as you look at the engine) Of course you may have an induction kit on and it maybe something else, but thats my best guess @ this time/state in the morning!!!
  16. How's it going Wullie/Claire? I'm getting a new turbo,so looking forward to another blast down the strip wagon vs wagon later this year..............good flamer vid! Cheers
  17. mmmmmmmmmm.........not so sure about the quality myself.......
  18. Looks like it was a cool car, well worth bringing back from the dead. The AWD pulsar was built from a burnt out shell if I remember correctly.Just goes to show what can be done! I like the yellow! All the best m8.
