  1. Seems to only do it 65-60 mph. A hum noise. There seems to be a fair amount of wind noise through windows and sunroof, so cant get a great idea on noise, it’s not there on acceleration/throttle.
  2. No, it’s only done it when I came off the motorway, any other time on low speed it didn’t do it, even a 2nd gear acceleration on duel carriage way it didn’t do it. It’s not done it anyother time time. It only did it first a second. Seemed more rear noise, but could don’t be sure
  3. It might not be anything, might be wheel bearing, just wondered if it’s normal, it’s been 10 years since I have owned a Impreza. It’s nice to be back. Few years back the wife’s xc70 has rear diff issues, it used to do it on deceleration, but this us completely different, a hum for a second after accelerator is lifted, that goes but isn’t speed related, ie pitch doesn’t change with speed. Just noticed it on exit of motorway.
  4. Hi, I’ve got a 55 wrx wagon. Drives great. Nothing to worry about and i hope this is just me. I can only hear noise for a second, but at motorway speeds70mph and 2500 when you come off throttle, to slow down there’s a second where the car makes a whine, doesn’t seem to be engine, just off throttle for a second, then stops. Only time I hear it, not at lower speeds. Anything to be concerned ?
  5. Hi, Not a newbie, but a return apafter 12 years away. I started with a 97 sport, then a 99 turbo2000, finally a 01wrx. Have just brought, but not collected yet a 55 wrx sl wagon. Bit of a midlife crisis buy.
  6. lads, i don't know if you've noticed. but. If you look closely at the clips of the outside of the car. Sometimes it has various camera's on the car. Others it doesn't.

  8. Well at least me... Time as come (I'm bored and want a new one), to change the car... and I've been naughty and I'm looking else where. I'm torn between a EVO VI tommi makinen and a S2000. The common accurance with me has to change from a scoob to something else(thinking it was for the better), the months or a year later go back to a scoob. I'm 28, been driving for a little over 11 years, and the list goes. Mini Cooper 1275(first car, great handling, too slow) Seat Ibiza Cupra(ok, too slow, too sloppy) Subaru Impreza Sport MY97(great handling, slow, loved it) Subaru Impreza 2000 Turbo MY99 (The best) Audi S3(dull drive) Lexus Is300(mistake) Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon MY01 PPP(had it 3 years now, so many times thought about it, but can't let go) The change is due to my wife. moving house. She has pointed out that within a few years it will be her needing a wagon/estate, and 99% of the time I'm in a car alone. I get the feeling I'm going to buy something else, miss the burble and come back... I have a plan..... one of the two ;isted at the top for the next 2 years. Then hatchback something to get me to work, and a scoob for fun, a classic again.
  9. any pics? HAve you now fully determined hwat you've got?
  10. Having had a lovely lon bank holiday weekend. I noticed lots of impreza's towing caravans, I camp but in a tent. Now I went to see my parents at a site (kingfisher water park, nr birmingham) and there were two there a black wrx wagon, and a silver classic STi. But I noticed laods on the monday coming from the east coast towing, my missus counted 6, 2 newage sti, 3 wagons newage, and a 2-door JDM classic. All impreza's, not legacy's or forestors, and all turbo models, good tow car! Not against caravaners, just wished they all could go as fast as they could if towed by WRX's, and at least pull over. Are there many on here that tow?

  15. Excerpts from an on going debate in Australia. This is true and can be checked at Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians." "However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle." "This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom" "We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society ... Learn the language!" "Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture." "We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us." "If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others. "This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'." "If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted
  16. One of the best I've seen. It's cars like yours that make me want to stay with a scooby(I always come bakc after a year or so) One of the best kit's I've seen, aggrerssive but nothing over the top. You must post a specsification. RALLY SL*G!!!
  17. This could be goodbye, but followed by a hello again. Wife has decided that it is time for a change (usually it's me that say's this) Going to change my scoob for Honda's S2000 (time to get a rag top 2 seater, which is her idea my choice). How much is mine worth? Any ideas? It's a Bugeye 2001 'Y' WRX Wagon WR Blue 30514miles, full service history, Scorpion exhaust, Bailey dump valve, K+N filter, STI Style front strut brace, Tarox disc's, mintex pads, and with or without 18" Ultralight split rim's with new toyo's, brand new clutch? Very good condition, 2 stone chips on bonnet. How much and any one interested? I say hello again above because neither of us want to be without a scoob. So were going to change her 206 for a non-turbo wagon. Having this been my third impreza, I've realised that with differen cars in between each one that the engine noise and handling just can't be lived without. Any ideas greatly interested.

On offer on Midland Scoobies Forum. What and where is the best place to keep my standard wheels. If they fit in garage they will be in there, but can I package them and put them at the side of my house.? Pics to follow Monday night. Jim
