Thinkin about chippin ma MY00 uk turbo, de-cat the exhaust and replace the panel filter with an ITG one.  Does anyone know roughly what power it'll be kickin out after that?  Cheers

Wouldn't touch any sort of piggy back to the ECU mate. It's asking for trouble. Go for either a remap or a replacement like the Apexi Power FC.

Get remaped by ecutek and get a green cotton filter .The maf sensor is a bit dodgy on my99 -00 .I had three maf failure's when i had a classic my2000 and that was with jr panel .The green filter is the one to go for it's dry no oil.The my2000 i had mods wise full decat jr panel filter tek3 remap by Andy F .Ecu tek is for 99-onwards subaru's

Cheers guys for advice.  re-mappin is quite expensive though.  What kinda trouble are we talkin if it gets chipped?  Yeah i've heard the maf sensors are a bit dodgy

that's what i like to hear cause i priced an Apexi Power FC ECU and it's £750!!!  What other mods have you got mate to get it to 315bhp/287lbs cause i'd be more than happy if mine was kickin out that?  cheers mike

A mate of mine has a bug eye wrx with Meercat exhaust and a chip, was as fast as my then standard Sti9, felt nice and snooth to drive. His has been done for about a year now with no problems.

I dont know enough about them to offer a technical opinion but it has worked for him.

full system,de-cats,induction kit ovresized pistons and the chip thats all i know of mate as thats how i bought the car i have been advised to have this removed as it doesn't really have any consideration for your engine  .... in the situation i am in now mate just save a few more quid and get something desent with some safty with it because as its been pointed out a few hundred quid saved now is nothing mate if you end up spendin 2k or more......but at the end of the day mate its up to

Have to agree with most of the above - NO

Had one fitted to a previous car & ended up needing a £3K engine rebuild, although that also might have had something to do with the "expert" garage that fitted it.[:@]

Get it ecuteked for the price of 550plus vat better to spend your money on a proper remap .Than blowing your engine up with a superchip.I was having a look on Awd site and they charge the above amount and Andy f does the remaps

So, so far 11 people including myself say No and 1 person is saying Yes, IMO it speaks for it's self, if I was in your boat I would rather save my penny's and get a remap done by the man himself Andy F.

Right team, think my mind is made up!!  No f**kin chance am i chippin it now!  Thanks for all your advice cause i'd be devastated if i got it chipped and it pumped ma engine.  One more question though... With a remap, replacement panel filter and decat, what will i be kickin out cause i wanna know if spendin all that cash is worth it and one of ma brothers has a P1 and the other bro has a 300+bhp 'scort cosworth and i wanna be in their league!!!  Thanks again boys

Cheers Spluff

With the filter and decat  fuel pump tdo5 18g and tek3 remap you might get 300+bhp and get Andy f to remap it for you and if you can get a newage sti 8 intercooler will help
