dave_morgan
Detects knock/detonation/pinking/pre-ignition in the engine and alerts you via the led lights. Very useful if you're running any mods to give you some advance warning of potential problems. Detonation is the cause of the majority of the sti5/sti6/P1 engine problems (as well as other models obviously, although it does seem more common on these). Link to comment
jamie_wood
Shows up any unwanted Detination in the combustion chamber as a result of incorrect Air to Fuel mixtures. Good add-on for any turbo charged car Link to comment
IanJ
Hi Gareth, Click here to read about knocklinks. In summary they are handy little things that help make sure your engine doesn't go pop if you run sub-standard fuel or too high boost etc Edited to say....Damn too slow! Link to comment
ormiboy
the kl displays the level of engine knock on a led scale by listening to a type of microphone bolted to the top of your engine. the big red led means lift right foot. or keep it down and plan a visit to the bank there is already one fitted by subaru but they dont give you an indication, instead the feed a value to your ecu which adjusts engine operation to stop its destruction. well worth the pennys IMO. they are pretty ugly tho so lots of peeps install the leds remote from the box somewhere nice and easy to see.
