wilky Posted December 17, 2005 Author Posted December 17, 2005 not bad. However gas flowing a forced induction engine sometimes is pointless.
tino Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 << gas flowing >> most of the manifold work was to match the ports/injector bodies and manifold. This is useful to do. The heads are ported and I agree, probably little difference but what the hell, in for a penny and all that

tino Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 So whats in the pipeline for yours, or are you just a tease
tino Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 << Proabbly only worth doing if you want the absolute max from your turboed engine >> Porting yes, limited value, however matching all the inlet components is good as it aligns any sharp edges where the parts join, reducing any turbulence etc. EG Matching
wilky Posted December 17, 2005 Author Posted December 17, 2005 your preaching to the converted, Ill see you on the strip, next?
ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 i will be running this with eleventy hundred of those things called horsepowers!! yeah right!!!....................i wish. BANG!! In all honesty just a fettled turbo and new wheels for me
irish al Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 And I tgought i was doing well. Not too bad though considering i didnt even know where the turbo was first time i opened the bonnt of my car. As i learn more I will spend more and definately play more. Trying to decide if its worth doing anything more to the wrx, clasics seem to have more bhp ????
drb5 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Why the change of heart Wilky? All i've heard from you is "It's a secret." Or "I'm not telling you." Anyway, mine isn't a secret. If anyone doesn't know, then they ain't on MSN. More than happy to say what i have, but if no-one ask's, then i'm not gonna broadcast it. Just to add. It's being done, NOT as a contest to anyone, but as a realy nice car to drive. I've heard many peep's say the 2.5 with a 05/06 is a fantastic engine. A lot less revvy than the RA, but a great tourer. IF it get's good figures, fine, but if it doesn't, do i care? Nope.
the squiggle Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Just larger injectors for me and a fuel rail modification. The rest of the car is a belter as it is Grant
fai17 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I'm running the standard turbo to the max. Just a GruppeS headers,Meercat snakehead exhaust,APS Induction,NGK plugs plus the most important bit............ GEMS ECU remapped by Phil. If i do any more i think i will need to open the engine up for new forged pistons and new turbo(not too big) as i still want loads of response from the engine. Yous need to sit in my car to see how quickly my turbo boost up the now....I'm well happy with this spec the car is in the now. Who's up for a shot??
tino Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 << clasics seem to have more bhp >> I think all marques have the same potential for engine tuning, however the classic is a lot lighter than the later models so is a good basis for getting the maximum performance.
colinj Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 No mods for me for 1 the insurance wouldnt allow it! Hopefully keep it ticking over without any mishaps for another 6 months then think about replacing it with a P1 or S2k
RA Dunk Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 ohh you going for a classic now gumball?? havent dont rap all to mine yet apart from a baileys motorsport dump valve and just bought a full stainless fujitsubo exhaust with 4.5" tailpipe but stand by for others soon

the squiggle Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I think the Spec C only comes in Red, Blue or White Might be wrong though Grant
oobster Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 << I think the Spec C only comes in Red, Blue or White Might be wrong though Grant >> Litchfields are showing an Obsidian Black Mica JDM WRX STi Spec C Grant. Clicky Edited: But if i had the cash it would be a white Spec C Type RA Limited, for just a fiver under £30K. One day, maybe.
Gumball Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 exactly, your wrong and imagined i had posted about my next car without deciding first in a calculated manner what i am going to buy. that my friend is why your a goat. thanks Andy, i should have mentioned im buying it from lichfield but i assumed (ie made and ass out of you and me) that people would know where cool scoobie imports came from
