WRXGirly Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 As above really , just had my renewal in and it's £1500!!!!!! don't want to sell up so am wondering if anyone can make a recommendation for a decent insurer especially in the g72 area that would be great
G.T. Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 best places most probably are tesco confused elephant admiral good luck pays to have a right good look around
gus the bus Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Got mine through Admiral @ a very reasonable £438 with business use and NCB protection. This was initially through confused.com but once they give you the quotes make sure and go to the companies own website and check they give you the cover your looking for. All your details will be there already so no need to do the 30pages of blurb again. Good luck! Gus
scoobyfuzzy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 got a good quote from norwich union at beginnin of the year £800 fully comp, got even better quote from the aa for next year, £350 fully comp fuzzy
oobster Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Try Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels. The details are @ the top of the general thread.
dipsy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I have been with privelege 6 years or more all ways cheaper than any one else for me
andy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Give A-Plan a buzz. Don't worry that their site doesn't list an office close to you. Mine was done through their Swindon branch. They got me a good deal with Norwich Union Direct that couldn't be beaten by anybody online.
gus the bus Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 << Try Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels. The details are @ the top of the general thread. >> Andy, that was the company I was trying to remember! I think I will give them a try when mine is due. Although Admiral gave me by far the best deal last time roond Gus
G.T. Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 i was with norwich union before i got the scoob. I had to make a claim and have to say it was the poorest service ever had to drive around in a bashed car for 6 weeks before they fixed then got it fixed and had an issue with an alloy being refurbished when i wanted a new one, eventually got a new one after much shouting. trying to explain things to a woman from the middle east who doesnt understand your scots accent too well is very frustrating
st3ph3n Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 WRXGirly, I'm in G71 and Elephant do me nicely.
G.T. Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 elephants do you nicely ooo errr stephen is this another gay thread coming on only kidding mate just my warped sense of humour
johnnyr6 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I second andy's recomendation..a-plan were the cheapest for me.
Johnny50 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 keith michaels were also cheapest for me. just joined up with them this week.
paul_honthy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Try Bell mate,£430 fully comp and im only 26
andy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 << keith michaels were also cheapest for me. just joined up with them this week. >> I'd look into them, but from what I've seen on the forums, it's easier to gain access to Fort Knox than it is to the members forums on this site to actually get the details. Something to do with this "new software" that I've heard mentioned time and time again as coming soon to a PC near you for months and months and months ad infinitum - yet in the words of Del Amitri - Nothing Ever Happens.
colinj Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 << Try Bell mate,£430 fully comp and im only 26 >> Admiral = 450 FC & im only 23 Edit - it is a UK car however....imports still pretty much no go unless I want to pay like £1000+!!
ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 A-Plan or Bell get my vote.......both do pretty good quotes on imports
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 << As above really , just had my renewal in and it's £1500!!!!!! >> That seems very steep to me like. When i was on the hunt for an insurance quote a couple of months ago i tried confused.com. You just enter your details and get a quote from a list of different companies all in one go, it includes companies such as Admiral, Norich Union, etc. Ended up going with Norich Union for a resonable sum. However as Gus the Bus was saying there are a few pages to sift through but it can be worth the £100's you could potentially save, man i sound like an insurance sales man Hope that is of some help for you!
stuboo Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I got mine through Spence Ins in bathgate £468 with work use on the policy worth trying
wrxmania Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Used Admiral & Elephant group for years - always the cheapest for me with free legal protection, windscreen cover and no charge for Business Class 1 on the policy. Oh, and they'll take all my mods, no issues and little charge. Brian
WRXGirly Posted December 11, 2005 Author Posted December 11, 2005 Thanks for your help guys! Will give them all a try. << Admiral = 450 FC & im only 23 Edit - it is a UK car however....imports still pretty much no go unless I want to pay like £1000+!! >> Yeah think that might be my prob, as the last time I tried to insure my car they tried to charge me for an 2004 reg wrx when its a 1993 K reg!! 2004 was the year it was imported not manufactured!!! lol!!
pedals Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I would recommend Elephant. By far the cheapest that i have found. pedals
scoobyfuzzy Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 mines is a 93 k plate import, n im 29, 2 years no claims, for 800 quid, cant complain
