imprezapete Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Hi peeps Anyone noticing any panic buying in there areas? 2 tesco petrol station all out in my area, musselburgh Shell is dry as well and Tescos store has next to no food on the shelfs. I've heard reports of other station dry as well in mid/east lothian! Anyone having issues as well? Shell musselburgh told my mom they aren't expecting any fuel for 3 days! Thank god im ok for fuel for this week!!!!
Gumball Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 yes, tescos in glasgow east end this morning. shell garage in lanark was stowed this evening. no wonder theres no fuel. stupid clowns
dougster Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I have a good book and 17.5 tonnes of roadblock lined up lads!!!
Gumball Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 as a random member acts as a dicker and keeps watch for the federation, wilky crawls up under the fron of the cab and sticks a mousehole charge to yur windscreen. as that implodes into your kite, the claymore fires ball bearings towards the front of the cab. to ensure the roadblock is over i furiously lunge into the cab with my bayonet and stick and thrust it in a forward motion. here endeth the roadblock. only joking
dougster Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Back on the couch Gummybear!! I'm doing this for the PEOPLE!!!!
Gumball Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 LOL I know. if people dont take a stance against the legal mafia robbing us everyday then whats going to happen???? next thing we'll be paying £2 a litre. my question is as i get to work tomorrow are the government going to cut my income tax????? nae danger
RA Dunk Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 hope our shell garage dont run out .. we only got one in town
jcscoob Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Just been out for fuel, 1 shell had cones across the way in. The next one up the road was packed, but go a belly full of optyjucie And sainsburys was busy to !! AAAaa freak out and PANIC BUY !!! lol
wrxmania Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Yep, Same in Glasgow East End Shell - had fuel OK but busy and the sales assistant said the day had been "crazy" when I asked. HOWEVER, the fuel protest group, as on the BBC news website say they will NOT be blockimg fuel delivery so there should be NO ISSUE, unless people keep panic buying. Brian [right, I'm away to fill up my wheelie bins with fuel ]
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 The Daily Express causes panic buying with their pishy headlines. It's the papers that cause half of this bullmit
imprezapete Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Well I went down to Musselburgh to top up the charge. It seems they got another load in but some fuels are out. Never stopped as it was about 20 cars deep at that point so I went to the seafield branch and topped the tank up to last me through any issues. 98.9p a litre too. Tescos Dalkeith was 30 cars deep according to my friend the night and I know of other having issues with damand and supply. Quote of the night Peter'been busy the night m8?' shell clerk'so busy I want to ******* shut shop now!' They are sure getting working this week lol
andy Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Saw it last time. Folk queuing to fill their little plastic cans with a couple of quids worth. Moronic in the extreme. At the time I was driving a diesel that would go weeks without a refill. Now? Sod it - I'll just work from home and let the "top-up" panic-monkeys queue.
McGoo Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Tesco in Greenock had the cones across the forecourt and queues when I passed ( early ) this morning and the Esso at Port Glasgow was unusually busy for that time in the morning. Shell at Yoker was OK but 103.9 for Optimax ( ouch )
st3ph3n Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Bird in front of me last night put £3 odd in her Corsa. WHY????????? 99.9 for Optimax at Shell Kincardine Bridge though. I thought that price was a bit of a result, which is a sad state of affairs.
Fee Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Edinburgh seems to be ok at the moment....all the ones I've been past have optimax Should have enough now to last me the week and get up to aberdeen at the weekend....just hope I dont get stuck up there
zeolite Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Everything normal in Fife. Well by Fife standards
st3ph3n Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Just wait till there's a shortage of horse feed, or carrots on sticks.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Re 99.9 p........... A lot of these pumps cannot display3 digits before the decimal place which is a result Only a matter of time before some Y2K guru jumps in
dipsy Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 The Goverment and oil companies will be making more money with panic buying and hope with this protest they drop the price.
2559B Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 plenty opti-juice at the shell in coatbridge ............ 98.9p a litre Still a digustingly high price, but cheapest i've seen for a while !!!
gus the bus Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Whitburn garages were empty of unleaded and the oily stuff last night. Still had plenty Optimax available tho so I got my tank filled no bother! what panic buying?
st3ph3n Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Spotted a tanker coming out of Happendon services this morning on my way past so I nipped in for £25 of fresh O. There was only 1 other car there on a forecourt that has I think 12 car pumps. But then I had to go round the wrong side of a road island before a roundabout in Alloa yesterday afternoon becaue the Queue for tescos petrol was so long..
johns Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Despite what the local newspapers say, there doesn't seem to be much panic buying in Aberdeen. I filled up yesterday afternoon, and there weren't any queues (only two other cars in at the time). Filled up with 45 litres of Optimax at 98.9p/litre, which was a drop of 1p/litre over the previous fill-up (same petrol station). John
