coulty
What a day!!! Well done to the SIDC and especially John for organising everything including the weather! Must say i was well happy with my car and the way that it performed on track. After my new ecu and remap from Andy F I thought it felt good but missed the pops and bangs my old ecu used to give me. Well i shouldn't have worried as my car was banging all the way up the main straight and flaming at the end of it on the overrun. I think my driving on track has improved since my first one last year and by the number of faster cars i passed (namely WR1 and a lot of elises) it has made my week and my year! Makes all the money i have spent on the car worthwhile. Thanks to all my mates who came watched me, Grant, Andy, Spooks and also my mate in the M3 Steve. One last thanks goes to Mr Toyo who made my tyres so that they could last 2 trackdays, 3 crail trips and 18,000 miles of normal driving. The tyres have now gone out in style!!! Cheers Stuart aka coulty Link to comment

halo
Good day out - Charles think we had a chat - I was tired looking bloke who is getting the skyline sorry if I seemed a bit random and spoke cr*p 2 hrs sleep and a 2 hr run does that to you and I was busy getting wound up about getting in the passenger seat. Was in the passenger seat of the wr1 on track - first time that car has been out on track and well first time out for the driver ever...on track in anything so I was V impressed not only with the driving but the car, and felt that it couldnt of gone better and there are some rather large limits to explore in that thing yet. All credit to gee who put in a good show considering its first time out and im looking forward to next yr when more experience will count im sure he will be giving some more people much more of a run for the money, this time round it was feel for the track and take it a bit easy on the car... Nice to meet some more people as well and I loved the noise and performance some of the scoobs were making out there its very tempting to come back to the scoob fold. Oh aye and got to drive the WR1 !!! - erm round the car park but hey it counds lol Link to comment
~ ~ Cal ~~
Guys, Another great day despite cack weather .............had some good ( amicable battles) !. Who owns the black new style WRX ? I was told it had PPP which was surprising as we kep it with one another for a good few laps. Got it all on camera. Could the guys who were on track guive me their car type and names and i'll see what i can do about providing footage. Dougster - I might MSN you the clips if that's alright ? The grey classic with gold wheels sounded awesome but the white one ( Grants ?) was like a pipe bomb !!!!!!!!!! Frickin poppin' with every gear change. Cheers to Kev for the pax lap - truly rapid modded p1 with a driver to match. 120 on the pit straight before gojng sideways into Duffus Loved it ! Happy to give pax laps to anyone next time Thanks also to JohnS and the other organisers ! Cheers Cal ps Willy - cheers for the photos Link to comment

za - sti
CAL, unless there was another grey classic then I hope you are talking about mine. Inside it sounds like a whale farting! first time out in 3 months and only managed a few laps as more probs with engine, possibly a head gasket or worse. Suspension was interesting as the springs were not seating properly. a bit of work to do over the winter. cheers John S for getting me on even though was v late. cheers Za-Sti Link to comment
johns
Glad you all enjoyed the day out Sorry the track was a bit damp to start with, but some people prefer it that way. I'll try to book some dry events next year! A dry line did form very quickly, and by 10am, only Duffus was still slippery (though it's been like that a few events this year). A short shower around 11am, and then dry again until the end. Excellent driving standards as per normal, with no complaints made on the day. There were a few first timers out towards the end of the session, and they may not have been quite up to speed/on the ball regarding mirrors etc, so apologies if any got in anyone's way. They'll be right up to speed for the next event though [1] A few offs, which is to be expected on a greasy track, but thankfully no real damage done to any car, apart from Jonathon's Caterham, which lost it's rear wheel arch after clipping the cone at the chicane, and somehow getting tangled up behind the wheel.... Hope to see you all there at the next one[1] John [1] We've got a provisional booking for an afternoon event in late October , which I'm hoping to confirm in the next few days. Link to comment

Gee Wr1
Hi all, Another great track day, & this time the temptation just got the better of me Was just supposed 2 be going 2 watch, but after watching 4 a bit & knowing there was spaces free the thought grew. Was a bit of a dilema 2 do it or not but after talking it over with friends & John S giving me the final temptation(Cheers John & 4 organizing the day) I finally took part in my 1st ever track day. I LOVED IT!!! Took it easy in most corners till i got used 2 track(thanks J 4 the advice & pointers) but still way slower than most of u. Hope i didn't get in anyones way, was trying 2 move over as much as poss. Thats why u passed me Coulty Never had any moments at all, PHEW!!! Was a great chance 2 get 2 know car better & it felt fantastic all round (power & handling) Still think it was the right choice Will be back for more next year Link to comment
