Newage Wheel Dilema

Recommended Posts

Hey there I am looking for some advice as I am considering getting my orig spec silver wheels ( which are on my silver wrx ) refurbed. I cannot decide what to go with - should it be

1. Original silver

2. Black in gloss or matt

3. Black with silver glitter

4. Gold (!) - or is that too out there for a silver car

5. Really out there a scarlet red

6. Another option!?

I would be interested to know anyones opinions on this and any combos that you have on your cars out there.

Thanks folks.

Hya buddy ive got multi spokes in gloss black works well me thinks with my o2c wr blue but i think matt black or even better satin black on a silver car will look the dogs danglys too many gold rims around for my liking but guess its just down to personal preference

Thats funny, my partner suggested I go with blue and I spoke to someone with a scoob who went with matt and realised the gloss was a lot easier to keep clean. Maybe a darkish blue - the mystery deepens! Thank you mctwist. The scoob is pretty standard so something a little different might be good.

My car has a set of silver for Winter and Gold for Summer. All O.E. wheels as the car is a spec D in Crystal Grey. I do think it looks better with the Original silver ones to be honest, but as the Spec D is always the poor STI's cousin it needs to shout it's ability to stop the ****ers in the Golf GTIs and such like trying to race me. They know enough to leave full STI's alone.....

Hello there *News Flash*

I have finally got the wheels done, had a few jobs to do and some trouble finding a good place to get them done

So thanks to The Wheel Specialist in Edinburgh - great job, service etc. Could show the others a thing or two‼

Its black gold ...

Looking good, now find some covers for the locking wheel nuts :D

Out of interest, should you so desire...........

They look like Carflow Evo Trilocks (Used before Subaru supplied McGard items) you can contact autoinparts.com  and get specific replacement covers for the lock nuts (as shown in the kit below)  rather than the push on bolt covers.

The black plastic item, by the key, is used to remove them as they are a good push fit.
