little vodka goblin Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 We were too :-/ altho it was a great day! And many thanx to Kim an all the guys for organising it and to Rachel for her parking manoeuvre's! ;-) My pleasure - to be fair I'm usually more particular but I had a teensy bit of a hangover and a lot of cars to get parked
spect Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Looking back on the day it really was a good time for me. Thanks to all those who did the organising and for all who turned up and made it a good day.
jimmer Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Now that rally day is finished anybody up for a meet? Was talking to a few of you at Rallyday & came up with a cpl of places ,haynes motor museum, tank museum or a jaunt to andover to the army museum! What do you think? Crap places or good? It would be nice to go somewhere where we can stretch those horses legs under the bonnet! The middle of September is good for me! Let's have some input guys! If you can think of anywhere better, post it up !!!
g1983 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 What about the museum of flight. Concorde is there. 22nd of September i think. Your ponies can stretch all 450 miles give or take
jimmer Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 We have our very own at yeovilton in Somerset, went there at the start of the year! Would be nice to get up to see you boys next year for the fling! Will have to badger a few of the guys down here to have a long weekend up north!
g1983 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 That would be magic. I didn't do the fling this year as found out about it a little late as had recently joined. Some of the videos look great. tI believe the only bad thing was lack of V Power :-(

Is it kenny that organize's it? I said just let is know early enough so we can book some decent hotels !
beefoss Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 What a road trip that would be. It would probably be cheaper to hire a car transporter and a minibus lol
jimmer Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 As we all know Keith! If you worry about cost, you shouldn't have a subaru You could make a weekender out of it!
spect Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 I will sort out a date and place, but I think a trip to Haynes would be good as it is relevant, has a large car park (and a track too for the mad bugbers), has a restaurant and has recently undergone an extension so will have some new and fresh stuff to see. If enough of us go we may get a behind the scenes look too.
little vodka goblin Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Might be a few of your neighbors interested in popping down to Haynes What in the little or the large Beemer Matty?
stum450n Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Might be a few of your neighbors interested in popping down to Haynes Do they still hire out the sprint track next door do you know?
jimmer Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Might be a few of your neighbors interested in popping down to Haynes Looks like we may have a goer here then!! Devon, dorset, zumerzet,Hampshire & maybe some cornish thrown in! Matty! You may have some midnight baking on the cards!
jimmer Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I believe so Might just commision the good lady to make some of her finest cornish pasties for the day Now your talking! I think were going to have to ask terry to look into this a bit more if the little track can be hired!
spect Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Devon Pasties would be better - especially as they are more traditional than the Cornish variety!!
little vodka goblin Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 There's gratitude for ya LOL! I guess you won't be wanting any then There is no place for a certain type of dewdney on the dining table!! I'm a Janner, but man alive you can't beat a good old homemade Cornish pasty and the wives recipe is awesome! Matty bring them to Trax instead, I promise I won't ask you to make them Northampton pasties!
spect Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 There's gratitude for ya LOL! I guess you won't be wanting any then Cannot eat them mate
jimmer Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Ivor dewdney pasties!!!! Now that's a pasty! Everytime I go to Manchester I have to take them up with me for a chap at our work as he misses them the most !
jimmer Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Northampton pasty, what the funk are they? Freezer bought one from Iceland's
little vodka goblin Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Freezer bought one from Iceland's Probably if they're sold at Silverstone lol That said, I'm originally from Bedfordshire - home of the clanger and if that's not the weirdest bloody "meal" I don't know what is!
