Fatal Accident

Just seen the News on ITV, there was a bad crash last night on the A836 between Castletown and Dunnet, 2 guys in what looks like a blue new age with Gold wheels... The Car is a total mess, and I'd have been more surprised if they had survived.

Turns out they hit a Bridge parapet, and went off the road...

Not trying to put a damper on anyone, but just a little reminder that anyone can get it wrong, and when it does, bad things can and will happen...

Don't know if anyone knows them, but the guys who lost their lives were named as Graham Scott(33) and Connor Craigy(17).

Lets Keep it Black Side down!

As if the news didn't get any Worse, it would appear that this was indeed a member.

It seems we have lost Spot2, who has been a member with us since 2008. RIP Graham. :(

Graham - "GSpot" - is an old friend of mine from when he grew up in Glasgow, the kind words on here are much appreciated. He leaves behind a young daughter, a hearbroken family and a a huge hole in the lives of all his friends.

He loved his "bloo scoob", it was a huge source of pleasure to him. He even went as far as buying a house purely on the basis that it had an inspection pit in the garage! He would save what he had for months to get that next tune, that better bit of kit. Living that far north wasn't easy, but he did have the benefit of some great roads that he knew very well.

He was no 'boy racer' and was well aware of the power and handling of his Scoob. Never wanted to show off, it just wasn't his style. He was more interested in the mechanics and engineering of the thing and could talk (and talk and talk) about it with anyone.

I had the pleasure of driving the car on a couple of occassions. Although bone shakingly stiff it was a remarkable machine. God only knows what his "nuclear" switch on the console did after the last tuning, I'm sure you guys on here know better than me!

Admin can use the email I registered with to contact for details on funeral arrangements etc.

Best wishes,

A shell-shocked friend.

My kind of guy! our posts often crossed paths on this forum discussing similar mechanical aspects of scooby ownership..

I heard about the accident first thing yesterday morning, but unusually for me didn't pick up on any specific details of it.. Very sad to read here that it was an impreza and fellow SIDC member..
