Glossy Picture Of My Front Wing

Hi Guy's,

As always you walk past something and when it has the right light at the right angle you are guaranteed a good picture.

Tonight was that moment i looked at the front wing and i have just spent 2 days machine polishing car and this is the result.

I have got in just now another members car so there will be a write up to follow.

Cracking when you see a nice shine at a certain angle or when the light/sun hits a certain bit and shows it at its best. It can be a bit of a skill to get that on to the camera...something I'm rubbish at !!

Beautiful shine there mate... shame about the orange peel though

You know i could take the orangepeel out but after doing that on detailingworld to a customers car you don't know what people will think.

I have done the back of my van. This is it with no orangepeel 22 hours of work on one panel. Note the top section is NOT a window. A full panel tailgate :D

Never mind the orange peel.... is it bloomin run in yet ? :rotfl::P

Yes my man it's run in but now we have boost control issues. It won't hold boost it keeps boost creeping i think i need to change to 3 port solenoid!!

Thats awesome mate....how much do you charge for a machine polish??

Bare with me i could quote a price but i have just spent 22hrs on an SIDC members car and have a nice write up for you all.

What wax are you using

That isn't a wax mate that is a sealant. I use various different sealants depending on colour and type of car. Wax i keep for the more solid or darker colours and on cars with curves. The problem with wax on silver is it dulls the flake so it will look shiney but not flakey

The sealant on it is Gloss It "Finish" a solvent based sealant and then on top Gloss It "Concorso" Waterbased sealant. The Finish is the first durable coat and the concorso gives the show gloss you see. I am a Gloss It authorised re-seller, they do a fantastic full range of products as you will see in my write up.

Pic is well smart.

How much will you take to do my whole car ?

What car do you have?

Re: Your boost issue.

Try connecting a pipe from your turbo compressor casing to the actuator, if the boost still creeps up way past your wasetgate pressure you will need to port your wategate. Boost creep cannot be removed with a 3 port solenoid or mapping, it is normally due to the bypass port (wastegate port) being to small.

Cheers Iain but i drilled the insert in the pipe from housing to T to 1.1mm and i now have better control of boost, or enough to map out the problems. The boost was feeling wild before but miles better now.

Next issue hit was the MAF maxed out at 300g/sec by 5100rpm in 3rd. This is a bad thing in a way but more a good thing as the power is coming i can feel it.

I will increase the inlet pipe size round the maf to compensate.

Lush!

...and a shine like that must equal about +30bhp in aerodynamic improvement B)

It does make a difference and i also have special Race Car polish that lowers the drag factor on a car as it makes it slippy smooooooth :) Trackclaw. ( I would love to do a test with this on a top speed run on someones track beast.

It must just have been because your restrictor was too small then, thats good though as proper boost creep as I described earlier can mean a fair bit of work to put right.

What mods are you running and what power are you currently at mate?

Cheers Iain
