  1. That picture above, of the advert, is what I have on my rear windows just now. Every time it has been on gumtree, pistonheads, autotrader, I have put on lots of photos (about 10 of them - showing all angles of the car - inside and out). And all the same information, such as colour, year, standard, etc.
  2. As some of you may know, I have been trying to sell my car for a very, very long time now so I can put a deposit down on a house, but I cannot seem to give this ****ing car away. I have been trying to sell the car for about 6 or 7 months now (I remember this because it was needing taxed at the time), and haven't had a single person come to view the car in all this time! It has been on autotrader 5 times !!! (At £30 per time), and I have even tried to sell it through an auction (£60) to no avail. In addition to this, it has been on pistonheads, and every other car/bike forum that I am a member on (quite a few of them). So thats £210 on advertising alone + I have had to tax it again because I have nowhere to keep it off the road. The first time it was advertised on autotrader I had advertised it at around £5500, and have dropped the price by a couple of hundred each time it was advertised since, and it now sitting at £4000 and still no calls or **** all!!! I paid £6000 for the car less than 1 year ago, and did lots of work on it (timing belt, tyres, brakes, etc). I know this shouldn't be a factor when trying to sell the car on but seems like an awful lot of money wasted. Recently I put it through an auction and got a final bid of £3000 (less than half price of what I paid) - and if I accepted the bid I would only get £2000+ due to auction fees, etc. Surely its worth more than that. I cant really think why there isn't any interest in the car. In the passed 6/7 months I have had: 1 user on here say they 'might be interested'. 1 guy in work say he would speak to me about the car (but hasn't). 1 fone call from a guy from Aberdeen say he would come (but didn't). I have even done another HPI check on it incase it has any problems I didn't know about, but it comes back clear. I have also have these signs on my rear windows as well, and park it right at the front door of a busy supermarket everyday: I know that there is plenty other Imprezas out there so it might be difficult to compete with them, but most (if not all) of the Imprezas of the same spec, age, mileage, condition on places like autotrader and pistonheads, etc are all priced higher than mine. Anyone on here got any advice ?
  3. Hello, I was just wondering where abouts in Scotland you are from ?

I am looking for a new set of wheels, but I really need them to have tyres on them, so am looking at other sets of wheels first.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Gazz

  4. These wheels: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:AAQ:GB:1123 Will they fit a Blobeye STI Type UK ?
  5. I have 2 sets of subaru wheels and I was wondering what other models of subaru they will fit ? The pcd is 5x100 for 1 of the sets and the other is 5x114.3 (I think). The 5x100 ones came off a wrx bugeye. If someone had a list of what they will fit, that would be great.
  6. Sorry. I am from Wishaw, near Motherwell. Almost halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
  7. OK, to cut a long story short, I need some help. I found a bulge in the sidewall of my tyre tonight (Saturday). I need to drive to Inverness tomorrow morning, but need a new tyre. Dont know anywhere that sells and fits tyres on a Sunday. Or could someone lend me a set of wheels (or even just 1 wheel if it will fit), to go to Inverness ? I will be away for 5 days (Sunday to Thursday), and will probably get a tyre when I am up there on the Monday, so will only use your wheel for the drive up. I have put my space-saver on just now, but dont fancy driving all the way up there with that on. So can anyone help me out ?
  8. Just bought these wheels and urgently need to get a hold of the guy. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:AAQ:GB:1123 His ebay username is Birnam44 and he is from Alloa. Does he use this forum or any other forums that some of you might be on ?
  9. Just wondering if he uses this forum ? Spoke to me the other day in Tesco Bellshill as he was delivering the petrol to the petrol station. Came over and chatted for a bit. Said he used to have a UK300 but recently got a RB320. Sounded like he liked his Subarus so just thought he might be on here. Possibly ?
  10. They are EBC redstuff pads: Code is: "dp3966c" I have a newage WRX, with 4 pots. Did a search online, but cant seem to find anything. Anyone know ?
  11. I have a similar problem checking the oil on these cars; in fact; I posted a topic about it not long ago. You can never get a clear reading from the dipstick. Sometimes when you put it back in it smears up the sides of the rod and coats the thing in oil. Never thought after 8 years of driving that checking oil would be such a difficult task.
  12. I used to think mudflaps on a Subaru were just for show and for 'looks', like loud exhausts and dump-valves. However I went out on a run with the Lanarkshire group and got pelted with loads of stones from the car in front who didn't have mudflaps. I do not have mudflaps either and was a bit concerned for the car behind me, so think I might invest in a set now after being on the recieving end of the stone throwing. Should I get normal ones (like in the 1st post) or those thin ones that run along the ground ?
  13. Cheers for the replies. Found them (thanks to you guys), and changed my rear struts today. You would have thought Subaru would have made them easier to reach, since how often these parts usually needs replaced. A garage would have added an extra hour or so labour charges onto that for the seats being removed and put back.
  14. Where are they ? Subaru have done a fantastic job hiding them. Checked in the boot and they are nowhere to be seen ? Looking for the top mount bolts (3 of them on each shock absorber), just to check something. Cheers in advance.... And how do you get to them as well.
  15. Can I join the squeaky reverse brakes club too ? I am currently a memeber of the squeaky seatbelt club !
  16. I did the first time around. The ad will probably not be on it now. I'll go and put another one on. cheers for the reminder.
  17. Why does no one want to buy my car off me ? I have never had as much problems selling cars before this and for some reason I was expecting this car to sell fairly quickly. I bought the car last November for £5800, done loads of work to it (brakes, timing belt, tyres, full service), etc. Also put it through an MOT and taxed it too, and yet I have never had a single call regarding it. I have advertised it at £5500 (which is below what other cars of this age, spec, etc are going for on autotrader). Is the recession still here ? I have seen another Impreza, a nice Jag, and 2 motorcycles that I would really like to buy, but can't until I sell this car. It is really frustrating. Anyone else had any problems like this; selling their car ? Or knows how I could get it to sell ? I dont fancy puting it through an auction cos I have sold a car this way before and the amount of money you loss is horrifying. Already spend £60 advertising on autotrader too.
  18. I just emptied that tank, and it is more like 350-360 miles instead of the estimated 400 miles I thought I would get.
  19. I have been working out mileages and fuel at the moments. Results are as follows: 250 miles to £60 (roughly a full tank) - this is for normal (and odd spirited drive). Possibly around 400 miles to £62 - not going over 2K RPMs except when on motorways. I have not emptied the tank yet, but it was exactly 200 miles when the fuel gauge was at the half mark.
