Ok guys, bit of a strange one here, not really a squeak but lets say a thing that makes the noise has been in my engine bay.

I found the wee red plastic cover on top of the engine nibbled away.

I THINK I HAVE A MOUSE IN MY ENGINE!!!!!!!

Sorry about the rubbish pics, taken from the phone.

Lets wait and see whats there is in the morning, has anybody else had a similar problem? it could turn out to be expensive if it chewed through the loom or a fuel pipe!!!!

Wierd or what.

Popped in for a wee look and 2 traps have worked, only tiny little things but suppose the costs could be frightening.

I suppose it`s better leaving traps set to make sure they all depart!!

I had the little feckers nibble at my engine bay a couple years back! fortunatley no major damage, just cosmetic to the same red cap and the red cover on the +ve battery terminal..

This is the worst time of year for them too!! .......especially after the heavy rain :) Wouldn't be surprised if you have a wee family in there! but hope thats the last of them.

I can garantee you will have more, i had mice in my kitchen a few years ago, only discovered i had them when i was fitting a new plumbed in fridge, and found the mice had eatten through the old fridge cable to copper, could have been nasty, anyway i started of with the humain traps and tallyed a count of five with that then the wee buggers figured out how to get in and out of the traps eating the nuts and chocolate so i had to get the snappers, final count of mice in my kitchen 22 of the feckers, 5 got off lightly and were released in a near by field the other 17 were toast.

moral of the story kep those traps set and use nuttela best thing.

all joking aside Davie,i have seen some cars that have had mice attacks, these buggers eat anything, seats, wiring looms, bulkhead material, carpets and they can get into areas that you wouldn't think possible, not only would i leave the traps outside the car,i would also leave a couple inside aswell, just to be safe.

Had a good look around both inside and outside including a good poke about the bay, nothing to be seen apart from the red plastic cover.

anyway, six traps set again.

Come on ya buggers.
