Apologies if I've missed anyone.. but can't think of any other group/individuals who deserve the award more this year! Although.. can we really nominate the squiggle for the same award two years running
thefastone Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 To be honest, I'm feeling kinda the same way, I cant think of anyone in SS that deserves this more...
Big Gordon Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I'm with you guys, the Gathering Team should be awarded it this year.
st3ph3n Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 It's not going to take a Eurovision style call round the nations to get their votes for this one. Don't call Taggart, don't call Columbo. This is an open and shut case if ever there was one.
ally-b Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Thanks for bringing this up, Ed.... I think that we should list nominations here , on this thread , and discuss/vote accordingly . So , could everyone please add nominations to the list below : 1. The McRae Gathering Team - Grant, Imy and Andy 2.

burgy_51_ Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Grant , Imy and Andy should win it hands down for what they did 4 the McRae Gathering they should even get an M.B.E or a Knighthood so all bow 4 Sir Squiggle, Dame Imy and Sir Andy!

I was just joking! I admire your sincerity but you were part of the team and all you guys deserve it.. Still thinking of other nominations... But can't think of what else that's gone on this year.. The Gathering has kinda dominated things.. What about any events/knockhilly stuff that wen't on..? However can I put myself forward for a Scottish Scoobies Golden Cock! award? (Ripped off from TopGear) This year I : - Fogot to ensure the wheel nuts were tight on my car before a run last November - Cooked the brakes on the way back from a recce for the Highland Run. - Had the Gear knob come off in my hand while down changing before a corner, on the way down to the Highland Run (Not fun) - Hit a Deer (Damaged part of the front end (consmetically)) - Fell off the rolling road (Broke the rear suspension) - Got it a bit wrong at Alford a week later and 'slightly' (cracked the splitter) - Had my first proper "blonde" moment and reversed into a post last week whiel parking (got a slight ding in my rear bumper as a result) Seriously peed of with myself on that one!! Sorry for going off-topic a bit... Oh I know.. What about my sheep friendly neighbours in Aberdeen for their first Santa Cruise last christmas? Oh! and what about JohnS and crew for going ahead with the Northern Big One at Alford this year despite the place turning into a building site virtually overnight! Edited September 18, 2008 by ScoUK
terzo neil Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 what about John S from aberdeen area for organsiing the sidc track days and welso for the most repairs/questions on repairs for the last year
scooby222 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 only other candidate that comes to mind is Imy for organising the highland run- can we give it to her twice?
andy Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Not for me either on this thnaks. Firstly, I'm never at home long enough to appreciate it and secondly it would get contaminated by my habitual chain smoking!
kloon Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 This maybe sounds a bit daft (i've got my tin hat and flame suit on lol) but is there no way, seeing as it's the 1st anniversary of the deaths, it could be awarded posthumously to Colin, Johnny, Ben & Graeme and displayed somewhere as a memorial for the duration of 2009 ?
thefastone Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Ari, the award is was done as a memorial to them, thats how it came about, so its for them no matter what individuals it goes to... Yeah, I think that JohnS would be another one to add to the list, he does a lot of the club despite working all the hours that the devil sends, I know how busy he is, and still he always has time for the Club, time to organise the Knockhill track days and Alford of course....
martin_allen Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Could go outside the club - Dave Richards/the Prodrive team for allowing the use of the Prodrive facilities like that...? 5t.

The Squiggle said: Take me out of the equation as i had the picture for part of this year alongside Pedro It really doesn't matter if the person has won it before. - Thanks for getting the framing done - looks minted really matches the picture well. scooby222 said: only other candidate that comes to mind is Imy for organising the highland run- can we give it to her twice? Only one person or group of people will get the award , so not a problem. Andy said: Not for me either on this thnaks. Firstly, I'm never at home long enough to appreciate it and secondly it would get contaminated by my habitual chain smoking! Oh no he's a smoker - strike him off the list pronto - only kidding ... As long as you enjoy looking at it during your period then that's all that matters, and who's says you'll win So so far we have. 1. The McRae Gathering Team - Grant, Imy and Andy 2. Imy - For the highland Runs. 3. John S - organsiing the sidc track days The more on the list the better. I wonder what the odds are at william hills.(credit crunch and all that)
martin_allen Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 sorry. just trying to help some of them might have been members if not scottish scoobie members. no further ideas. 5t.
johnnyr6 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 For my pennies worth, the same all round... 1. The McRae Gathering Team - Grant, Imy and Andy 2. Imy - For the highland Runs. 3. John S - organsiing the sidc track days and maybe.. 4. Playsatan for the longest rebuild on ss.. Johnny

iainc Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Gus the Bus said: Deffo the three Amigo's for me! Aye... never made it myself due to other commitments but can't really see anyone else likely to "beat" them for it.
StrikE Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 (edited) The McRae Gathering Team - Grant, Imy and Andy Without a shadow of a doubt in my mind the forementioned peeps should be given an award, in fact some kind of special icon on these forums for the hard work and accomplishments they have achieved. Edit, missed oot the names! Edited September 20, 2008 by StrikE
Richie Cross Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 to everyone else that works hard for the club but it's got to be the Gathering team this year
