john_mchutchison Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Agree with all of the above but would like to say a very well done to a VERY nervous girl on her thankyou speech, well done Imy.
badbaz Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 All the organisers and helpers/contributors did so so well. Had a great time and felt so much pride to take part in such a massive tribute to a much missed character. There was not an accessible bridge en route that didn't have people waving/filming/clapping/displaying flags or banners. My horn was sore by the time we got to Banbury. Brilliant success and inspired decision to organise it in the first place. Jimmy must have been touched as he stood at Douglas Road End watching us file past. His son is a true legend.
richscooby Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Grant, Imy, Andy, Cheers Totally AGREE with all of the above posts. I was totally overwhelmed by the amazing support for this event. Words cannot descibe how we felt convoying down. It is AMAZING to think this was concieved and organised by three ordinary people! A massive thanks to you all, and of course to everyone involved in the planning! One massive thanks must go to everyone who turned up, you did yourselves proud! Cheers, Richard Massive respect to Imy, Andy & Grant

phil Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 3 very different people that I had never actually meet before, other than from behind a keyboard Andy - How did he not self combust!!!!!! Especially with that bloke selling stickers at Prodrive - TOP MAN Grant - Do you ever stop moving? Where do you get your energy from? - TOP MAN Imy - Your emotional speach started me off and I had to walk round the Unit to compose myself - TOP LADY to all the other marshalls - TOP GUYS To our auctioneer - TOP JOB
terzo neil Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 our wilky, pity he couldnt see me right at the front waving arm aboot like a daftie for the top but thats how it goes
st3ph3n Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Wilky needs to be doing standup comedy. Everyone was in stitches listening to the auction. I think the phrase "diso man" will remain with me forever. As will the whole weekend which was special from start to finish. At no point was I anything less than utterly gobsmacked. I've been privy to a lot of the information so quite how I was still completely blown away with the sheer numbers and scale of the thing I don't know. Seeing Jimmy waving before the M74 must have been a hazard as I'm sure there was a few of us welling up as we drove past! Well done to the rest of the marshalls too, and to prodrive for all their efforts. I know the three tireless workers were enjoying a wee day off today and I hope they woke up this morning feeling exceptionally proud of themselves because I know we are. Or atleast hungover! I had a quick word with Grant as we were driving out the site last night and he summed it up with the line "..we did the big man proud". Goddamn right we did.
terzo neil Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 or this was a classic high bid currently with man in subaru top

Im sure andy imy and grant have been thanked so many times since yesterday but id still like to say thanks for all the effort you put in was truely an amazing weekend cheers
