gus the bus Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Neil, Stevie Walker in Bathgate. Been using Stevie for the last 21years (feck am old ) Widnae touch anybody else
drb5 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Neil, consider first what the paintwork could go like afterwards. To do a full proper respray costs 4 figures, then some wee runt comes along with a key... Another thing to consider is how it can affect resale value. Dunno if you intend keeping it till it dies, but someone with a keen eye WILL find it's had a full respray and question it. You CANNOT get a 100% factory finish, even if the factory finish isn't great.
drb5 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) Ooooooooooooooooooh dear. Me thinks you'd be ruining a perfectly good motor there, but whatever you fancy mate! I take it the big scratch down the side won't t-cut out at all? Edited June 24, 2008 by drb5
thewelsho Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Matt black! Well now, that is different and would look real cool
superstar_tradesman Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Autotecnique in Larbert01324 579697 Not cheap, but one of the best in the business! Yeah they are good my mate works there as a painter, also James Blair in Falkirk, he just painted my full roof and touched a few bits up for me.
thewelsho Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 hubba hubba Oh yes! The Bat Mobile - would look great on a Scoob, I think. Also, the matt black finish looked great on the police cars in the first RoboCop movie
dan_jess Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Matt Black will look brilliant. What wheels/wheel colour will you be going for?
superstar_tradesman Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I voted yes mate, think it would look stunning with the right wheels etc.
scouk Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hmn not sure... Straight forward STi in matt black... Nah... But if you stick soem nice grills all over hte place and chunk i up a little with black wheels and stuff yeah getting somewhere.. Paint alone will be lacking something, but matched with a nice kit like batman styleee then yeah could work! The paint will attract attention but the rest of teh car has to keep up with the style... But then I've never seen a matt black hawkeye so it may well look good on it's own... Myself...I'm a huge fan of shiny Black Hawkeye STi's with silver alloys Oooh dribble!
scouk Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Actually forget a 4 figure respray you can get a nice matt finish using sandpaper !!!
scouk Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Starting to get visions of an RB320 in matt black... and thinking
gus the bus Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) MATT BLACK! MATT BLACK!!!!? Neil yer aff yer ****in heid Do NOT waste a perfectly good car! But if thats what you want then its your car Stevies details are with you you nutter! You'll know what way I voted! Edited June 24, 2008 by Gus the Bus
gus the bus Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Actually this one looks acceptable the rest just look ****!
gus the bus Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 vinyl wrap, hmm, you have me thinking now stephen.. At least if it looks pants it would just peel off good find with the photos Paul, it's looking more interesting by the minute! Gus, do I get 10% off that price Yip, good shout actually if you MUST do it then atleast vinyl can come back off! Different Stevie for the Vinyl
mikeyb13 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Thats a yes from me. All black Silver Wheels and No colour lights or badges. Shiny or Matt? its up to you mate I would take those ladylike pink badges off mine too if I wasnt so worried about scrapping the paint
col666 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 All done with vinyls too- Think your a bit nuts about doing this to such a new car but I respect your crazyness.....go for it!
