thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) Well, I got fed up trying to find a company who would put stickers on my car, so I decided to do it myself. Regardless of how you think it looks, It is definately different and eye-catching without being overkill. Please feel free to say what you think, I'm thick shinned Car looks better in the metal, the pictures are pretty crap; taken in low light. It's good to turn heads again and to have cars move over in the outside lane of the motorway again, ha! I got the vinyls from here. Enjoy And I painted my track wheels to finsih the look. If they look good, I will consider getting my good wheels powder-coated:)... Edited June 21, 2008 by TheWelsho
colzo Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Sorry John, I see too many cars with these stripes e.g. Ford STs, Minis, Swifts etc. and its just not my thing. Also is Knockhill not back to front? Anyway its your car and money and only my opinion.
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 That hits the spot for me Thanks Sorry John, I see too many cars with these stripes e.g. Ford STs, Minis, Swifts etc... .... Also is Knockhill not back to front? Yes, but I have never seen them on an Impreza I think the track is ok, isn't it? Cheers!
colzo Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 The way I look at the track graphic its upside down, as you drive the track clockwise then to me the hairpin should be at the right.
zeolite Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Well until the earths magnetic field flips again (see palaeomagnetism John or until cartographers start putting anything other than North at the top of the map the track vinyl is fine. Colzo..Are you one of these people that has to turn a map upside down when heading south?
scooby222 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 simple,to the point but eye catching- fulfills the brief for me! not to everyones taste but then they havent seen what ive planned if i get the nerve to do it. o, and viper stripes are worth at least 40hp aint they?
Boydie. Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Looks good to me John, but what the hell does Shake n Bake mean?
colzo Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 The way I look at the track graphic its upside down, as you drive the track clockwise then to me the hairpin should be at the right. If that particular graphic was on the drivers side it would be perfect, just like the SWRT Swooshes you had, they were 'sided'.
oobster Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Please feel free to say what you think Orange stripes I could live with, orange wheels to match are ok too. The 'JW340' just looks odd. Daft font, daft sizes, daft place to put it. 'Shake and Bake' straight out of Max Power. I'm all for being a bit different and if you like it then what the hell, but ditch the Jw340 and DEFINITELY ditch the 'Shake and Bake' nonsense (IMO).
jcscoob Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 John its not what i would do to a car, but it does look good and its what your after Looking forward to the orange wheels pik.
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 Looks good to me John, but what the hell does Shake n Bake mean? Colin, see here: http://www.btccinfo.co.uk/circuits/knockhill.html Shake N Bake means... I have no idea! I seen it on the back of the Gumball 3000 STi car, see here: http://www.gumballsti.com/images/800-targa003A_resize.jpg Thanks for the comments all
ANDYJDMSTI Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Lose the "shake and bake" and "JW340"..............too fast and queer IMHO
colzo Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Well until the earths magnetic field flips again (see palaeomagnetism John or until cartographers start putting anything other than North at the top of the map the track vinyl is fine. Colzo..Are you one of these people that has to turn a map upside down when heading south? I suppose my perception of the track has always been from spectating from the pits, wasn't thinking from a compass point of view. Also, I use Sat Navs to find where I'm going. All the rage now apparently.
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 I suppose my perception of the track has always been from spectating from the pits, wasn't thinking from a compass point of view. Ah, I see your point!
micra_wrc Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 well its a bit kooky and unusual but soo very you John. tbh the car looked a bit bare last i saw it at the Gla meet. think the orange wheels will grow on me, take a pic of them on the car to see what the overall effect would look like. one things for sure - the car will stand out when you fling it round KH - bet the SICC will be snap-happy at the track day
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 well its a bit kooky and unusual but soo very you John. Eh! Oh great! Now I'M kooky and unusual... jeez, slag the car off, not me, I'm not THAT thick skinned!
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 Sorry John, but reeks of mid-life crisis! What? And buying an Impreza with full rally decals didn't?! Anyway, I have been going through that since I was 25!
seafar99 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 John, you bought the car AND ADDED the full rally decals.
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 John, you bought the car AND ADDED the full rally decals. I know, that's my point... why wasn't that a midlife crisis?
seafar99 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 "Shake'n'bake" no,no,no. It sounds like some America'isim
thewelsho Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 "Shake'n'bake" no,no,no. It sounds like some America'isim But there is nothing wrong with Ameri.... oh, yeah, there is!
