thewelsho Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Some of you said you'd like to see a more complete mock up of the Monster graphics for the Hawkeye, so I tried to do that. It was difficult becasue I couldn't find decent donor graphics - or didn't have the patience to keep looking. Anyway, here is a front and side few of the proposed design. Opinions welcome, good or bad.
pmacFTO Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) Looks good and altho I didn't like the "claw marks" on the other pics it looks quite good on yours but I reckon a good artist could make them look more like they were scratching a hole in your car and have a black inner with some shadows round the edge. Overall it looks pretty cool. I like the front but you'd need to make sure you get the yellow right...you've done this before tho so you know what you are doing Edited March 11, 2008 by pmacFTO
G.T. Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) dont know if im convinced mate maybe the gold wheels that dont look right, but theres somthin not quite right. wheres 4hero when you need him to muck bout with colour combos. why get dayglo graphics again when the last ones faded front looks good on second look Edited March 11, 2008 by G.T.
C_WRX Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Mmm, somethings just not quite right, might be the claw marks, perhaps a bit much up the side??
thewelsho Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 not feeling those!! ARGH!!! The seeds of doubt! Any suggestions? dont know if im convinced matemaybe the gold wheels that dont look right, but theres somthin not quite right. wheres 4hero when you need him to muck bout with colour combos. why get dayglo graphics again when the last ones faded front looks good on second look I wouldn't go for dayglo again, just bright yellow or something similiar. Try not to pay too much attention to the colour matching as its jsut a mock up, so there is no way to get a totally accurate representation. Thanks so far!

gus the bus Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Sorry John! NOT for me mate . Imho it cheapens the look of your car and that you DONT want
thewelsho Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 not for me .... Pffff, this is not looking good
zeolite Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Noooooooo! Numbers are not legal on road cars as well unless covered by event insurance i.e. if you are on an event which you are not cos it is a road car. Gilding the Lily mate.
fiestajohn Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Numbers are not legal on road cars as well unless covered by event insurance IIRC there is nothing to stop you putting numbers on your car, it is the MSA (motorsport association) the requires numbers to be removed before competition cars are driven on the road. I seem to be in the minority here but I like the graphics John. Something different
dan_jess Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I dont really like graphics but each to there own i say I'll throw another dilema in by saying that those graphics would maybe look best if the wheels were silver or white
ton246 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Not for me either sorry to say but if you like them then hey,go for it !
Subarstar Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 The front view looks good m8, but I think you should either loose the clawmarks on the sides or at least try making them smaller, or changing the colour, as mentioned above. Having said that, I saw the exact same graphics on a car on TV at the weekend and it looked pretty good. Remember it's your car and if you think it looks good.....go for it. No matter what you do, there will always be someone who criticises. I remember being told when I was a wee lad, "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all." (Perhaps that's why I don't say much ) norry.
irn_bru Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I like it m8.It is different from the norm. Colin.
RS Grant Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 It doesnt really offend me, and most graphics usually do.. Think the basic idea is alright, its something different, which is waaaaay needed as the SWRT graphics have been done to death now IMO... I would re-think what small graphics to use and try and distribute them a bit more widely cause it looks a bit 'busy' just now (although I know its just a potatochop effort you've shown to give an idea). Its got a bit of '80s Tiger Striped Cossie' about it...... and the 80s look is gonna be soooooo hot this summer. Cheers, Grant
the_ex_leper Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) sorry mate doesnt do it for me lol the D+G urban cammo on the gumball cars looks good but alot of work. Edited March 11, 2008 by the_ex_leper
st3ph3n Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 John, I think you need the black bits like the original. Also - DC, not D+G for the camo! Wonder what Dolce and Gabana would do with a scooby?
scouk Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Kinda annoying this, but I have to agree with most of the other comments... Something isn't quite right about it... Not sure what.. The mock up you posted in another thread the other day seemed to look ok... Not sure what the difference is.. I have to agree with going for a properSWRT yellow instead of the dayglow!. I like the design! somehow those mock up's arent right somehow.. shame...
colzo Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 As said before I'm not a fan of graphics but these look good/different. I would leave out the numbers and your name on the window though.
