AndyF was saying that performance cars thrive on higher octane stuff and when running the car on track, Crail etc, the higher RON stuff minimises the chance of knocking, thus providing another factor in engine safety. To that end he urged me to use V power which I wasn't going to do and also rcommended octane booster on track days. I'm sure you are having a laugh saying its going to be £2.50, right? Are you not getting mixed up with that stuff they done that was 107 or something. I am sure this is a different one. May be wrong though. If you read the engineer part, they tested it on a STI and you can see the power difference. Dave

Nae way I'm paying £2.50 a litre. If you used VPower with Octane boost you would get the same result (or better) for far less candy. Gus

I turned up at AndyF with a full tank of 95RON and he really wasn't happy! He gave me a talking to and said you wll loose 20 BHP and the car wont run as safely, so that urged me to do it. In the meantime, he stuck octane booster in for the map. V Power from now on

Also, I've got a sticker on the inside of my fuel flap that says it should only ever be filled with 98 RON Minimum??
