  1. Its like a two boost map, works off the rear heated screen switch, got to put the right foot down and press the button twice As i have a uprated actuator i could only have 1.2 bar and 1.5 otherwise i would of got a lower boost setting set at 0.5-0.8 with the higher boost setting as it is 1.5 Regarding fuel well it cost me £180 going up not including fuel for mapping and about £170 comming home and being able to use boost Takes 20 mins to change back to cat for the MOT.
  2. Yep fairly happy expected a bit more but as the nuetral position sensor wasnt working properly i expect that it will be a bit more when its fixed as Andy said when he mapped it the AVCS wasnt working properly. It goes real nice but already getting used to it Whats next iam asking myself
  3. The nuetral position sensor was faulty so should see an increase over the end results. scott377.bmp

  12. I agree with you there as a few have proved, but still got to do a few more mods than the Newage. I personaly wouldnt run a classic at that sort of bhp.Ive been told by a good source that the newage is easily capable of running that sort of bhp. ive decided to jun 2.2 my car just incase it decides to throw a rod. My first car when i was new to the subaru world was a 95StiRa and in its short life here in briton it went thru 5 engines lol it wasnt till the second engine went pop i discovered a jap piggy back ecu under the carpet under the seat still cant remember why i was taking the carpet out. That car was absolute balistic, fun while the engines lasted .
  13. Total personel choice mate, I went from a 95 STI RA to a 97 STI R then i got my current car and imho i have no regrets. I was worried that it was going to be a wrong decision likewise but ive now had it for 3 months and iam totaly loving it. I found that the newer cars can be tuned at levels that classics no matter what model would be at there max without going for uprated internals and the like. My plans are to take this car to about 380-400 bhp at a cost of about £2000 try get that bhp on a classic for that sort of cash.Saying that youve got £5000 lol so i suppose it is a bit of a hard choice but whatever one you make am sure you`ll `be a happy man.
  14. Can you put me in your boot Show em all up mate, best of luck
  15. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..... GT3,RB320..... Get both!!!
  16. Soudns good.. But... chances are you wont be able to read AndyF's maps.. This is due to licencing.. Same way you can't read the PPP maps off the ecu's (although I got lucky once! and managed to get them) That was before they locked down the ecu's. Which makes sence. why spend hundreds/thousands on develppment then have someone copy it. I'd imagine it's the same for andy.. He puts his own expertise into an individual map for your car and probably doesn't want anyone playign with it, so the ECUTek licence probably comes in to lock the ecu. How would deltadash work?cant you can read the map.I know you can ask for it when you pay the licience.I know that deltadash is limited to 3 differant ecus but are capable of reading data? Are you limited to the map with deltadash?if so am sure it would be easy enough to reads andys map thro the dash and use it. I do think that subaru need to sort it out concerning the standard ecu,as i believe the standard scooby either wrx or sti can be mapped to higher specification but has better fuel consumption. So it makes sense to get the car mapped wether its standard or not,i must admit tho it is pricey for someone to plug a laptop into your car and press a few buttons, but as many mappers have proved people seem to think its worth it.Iam willing to pay for Andy to do my car but i really want to learn how to DIY
  17. What iam after is to get my car hooked up and save the ecu data that its running now, then i plan on visiting Andy F and let him work his magic and obviously pick his brains while hes mapping ,then look at the differance between both maps. I dont plan on flashing ecu or changing any values till i know what iam doing. Its going to be a massive learning curve for me and i`am not jumping in head first. I did notice that openecu has many voices with their own opinions and also alot of people having problems like dodgy downloads. As the saying goes your car is as good as the mapper-map. Any help would be appreciated and having a place that could be trusted within the site to exchange ideas and chat would be a bonus
  18. Thanks all, Iam well tempted to give it a go where can i get a cable? could be a good idea having an SIDC ecu crew to share their experiances with diy ecu tuning. Phil what do you think?
  19. Hi thanks for that i will take a look soon and if you dont mind i`ll get back to you if i have any questions. Cheers Scott
  20. Hi all, Does anyone use this web site openecu.org?If so what are your experiances with this site?Would you recommend it? Regards Scott
