thewelsho Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I am going to be doing an oil and filter change on my wagon 1995 wrx The last owner has been using 5w30 mobile one should i keep using this ????? Should it always be a full synthetic oil i use Thanks for any info guys Full synthetic: 10w 40. The 5w 30 stuff is a bit too thin. It is likely to cause engine damage if you are ragging the a55 off of your car. If you are a sensible driver, the 5w 30 would probably do it. Wait till the real knowlegeable people come along though.
RA Dunk Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 millers 10/60 is also good to use as well
gus the bus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 millers 10/60 is also good to use as well I'd go with that or Castrol Edge (10w60)
butler Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I'm just about to put millers 10w 60 in my 97sti and comforting to know that people say the right choice.
frank c Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I use 10w 50 I wonder if i should change.
scouk Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I was recommended Silkolene 5w 40 Not had a chance to pour it in yet though...
butler Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I called Millers the other day and they said 10w60 is very good for impreza's.
thewelsho Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Millers 10/60 here too I think I'll join the millers 10/60 club!
andrew_forrest Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Motul 300V 15/50 here Lots of customers using the millers 10/60 though.
JohnSt Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I use Motul 15/50 300V, though have used Millers 10/60 in the past. I use Millers products in my gearbox and diff, I've had my troubles there, but nothing that could be atributed to the oil. The only down side about the motul is the size it's available in. 4ltr + 2ltr (Impreza takes 4.5 ltr) Alyn at AS performance is the man for this stuff ---john---

I was there a couple of weeks ago to get some gear oil and they said they do not stock a full range any more. He let me see what was in the back and if you didm't want a 210 ltr drun there was hardly anything to pick from. When I asked about ordering some in he said they didn't do that anymore and I'd have to buy from one of their stockists, not them I'd phone before going through.
fiestajohn Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) There is a company selling Millers CFS 10w60 (5L) for £41 (£31.50+£9.50p+p) on ebay. Far cheaper than the RRP. Edited September 14, 2007 by fiestajohn
