ally-b Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 What I seem to have here is a whole bag of Shhh with someone's name on it. Yet again . LOL
dougster Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Aw, expecting a little better than that......[8-|] Can someone tell Frenchy that Strathclyde is no longer a recognised region? You will find that I have been trying to convey this to the RO co-ordinator for some years now.

Quieten down in the cheap seats, the rustling of your Wurthers Original's are putting off the other patrons

dougster Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Here they all come now..."No one gives a ***" That appears quite obvious.Professional as ever St3ph3n. Excellent job you are doing.
frenchy Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Can I point out the following: 1. I have only been the RO Co-ordinator for a short while 2. I do not live in Scotland, so therefore I do not know where the boundries stop and start, nor do I know where they are exactly Dougster, what is the problem here? I am trying my best to ensure we have all seats filled ok.
andy Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Dougster, what is the problem here? You have one word too many... Dougster what is the problem here
ally-b Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Can I point out the following: 1. I have only been the RO Co-ordinator for a short while 2. I am trying my best to ensure we have all seats filled ok. Kim, 1. You are doing a great job as RO co-ordinator [Y] 2. Dougster is correct [] - Strathclyde is no longer a political 'region' , but as very few of the 'Glasgow' region SIDC members actually live in 'Greater Glasgow' we discussed the subject at our meets and decided that it would be easier to keep our SIDC region called Glasgow/Strathclyde rather than "SIDC Inverclyde-Renfrewshire-East Renfrewshire-North Ayrshire-East Ayrshire-West Dunbartonshire-East Dunbartonshire-North Lanarkshire-South Lanarkshire-Argyll+Bute and Glasgow City " region . It kinda rolls off the tongue a bit easier [] andywrx, I think you've summed up the 'problem' [] Phil, I think you've sorted it [Y] Al. ("SIDC Inverclyde-Renfrewshire-East Renfrewshire-North Ayrshire-East Ayrshire-West Dunbartonshire-East Dunbartonshire-North Lanarkshire-South Lanarkshire-Argyll+Bute and Glasgow City " regional organiser)
dougster Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 "I am happy to re moderate you" For what, to keep everyone else happy? Frenchy I was not having a dig at you but the fact that this issue has been raised before. How simple would it be to drop the 'Strathclyde' name? Instead you get all the usual suspects pointing out that I am creating problems when I am merely stating the obvious. I'm sure Del is happy you are covering his area too Ally. Keep it up guys as I've been there before remember.
terzo neil Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Ally i think you missed out a region it will be always known as strathclyde
dougster Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Another 'Diner' joins in ...........[*-)] Some thanks for the free O2 sensor Neil.
frenchy Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Frenchy I was not having a dig at you but the fact that this issue has been raised before. Not since I've been on board. But noted, thanks Kim
ally-b Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I'm sure Del is happy you are covering his area too Ally. And I'm sure that if Del was not happy he would let me know himself . You are the only one who seems to have a problem with it.[|-)] Al.
dougster Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I don't have a problem with it. The SIDC does. [8-|]
terzo neil Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 dougs i have known it as stratchclyde for the last 34 years, and i did post saying thanks for it as for another diner joins in, it's good food and you get a good laugh and it's not about cars all the time, topic conversations and jokes
corsa Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I think it should just be known as the Glasgow region, just my opinion mind you.[:S]
dougster Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Neil, you did and I appreciate that, thanks. It's an issue that could be resolved rather simply but as usual the SIDC like to make a fuss. I'm happy to oblige and do not have a problem where anyone wishes to be an RO. Again, I provided a fact and have experience of people having MAJOR difficulties in who done what around here. Keep up the good work everyone.
terzo neil Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 cheers for the reply dougs even my work calls it strathclyde and i call the whole of england englandshire as dont know all the counties
frenchy Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 i call the whole of england englandshire as dont know all the counties LMAO thats funny []
andy Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 FWIW, I've been around for a few years now and although not a prolific poster I have read a lot. I've seen Glasgow/Strathclyde/Weegieland/Whateveryouwantocallit go through some rough patches, but I now see photos of big turnouts at meets and great reports with none of the fighting that was going on in the early days of my time here. What's in a name? It doesn't matter a toss as long as everybody's enjoying themselves - and it's more than apparent they are. Then again, I've eaten at Pete's so I guess that makes me biased [8-)]
the squiggle Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 . It's an issue that could be resolved rather simply but as usual the i like to make a fuss. Again, I provided a fact and have experience of people having MAJOR difficulties in who done what around here. Please enlighten us as to what you actually did around here. I have a cup of tea ready and a smoke in the ashtray awaiting your reply So we should bow down before you and praise you for past glories, while we bow before your greatness, could you turn water into Buckfast and part the Clyde between Helensburgh and Greenock. Why not come along to a local meet Dougster, get to know some of the new breed of Forum members. Wether or not anyone would actually talk to you is another matter but the invite is there none the less
derek_robertson Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Ayrshire region now being renamed:- South Strathclyde???????? Don't think so.............Nah!!!!!!!!! We're more than happy to stick with plain AYRSHIRE, a proud name renowned the world over as I know GLASGOW is. Don't know why it can't remain as simple Glasgow. Can't see any one saying "Strathclydes Smiles Better" or "I belong tae Strathclyde" or "Dae Ya Want A Strathclyde Kiss?" Strathclyde name never really took off, a mish mash of regions controlled by another useless government. JUST MY HONEST OPINION I've been sitting back having a good laugh at this P!sh!!!!!!!!! Have fun out there , Del[]
wrxmania Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Lol @ Del. I agree - no one really cares as long as the club is supported and people go to and enjoy the meets. Brian []
