Joe, I also find Admiral the cheapest through confused.com, the web quotes are nearly always cheaper.

Also Gav, I called my main Subaru dealer to enquire about getting a PPP fitted to my EU imported WRX. He told me that they would fit it but cant give me the certificate and i'd have no warranty. I've went off the idea till i've done at least 10000 miles but is this true?

Sorry m8,this is true, because prodrive products are endorsed by IM,and your car is from another source the warranty would be nil and void.

Joe,

Try the Admiral Group (ie admiral, elephant or Bell direct) I've insured all of my scoobs thru them.

Gus

I am with Elephant and never again. They seem fine and cheap until you have to claim! But I won't get started on that one!

Gav, if this was 2 years from now I might just have been biting your arm off for one of your WRXs!! But I don't think you will have a new WRX in 2 years time [:'(]

This is fine & dandy if you have no part-ex.

It really comes down to the 'cost to change' as, IMO (& past experience), the part-ex value decreases in line with the reduced price of the new car.

You could always sell privately and get more for your car, but understand not everyone wants the hassle.

Agree about the "variable" part ex price. imo no dealer wants to give you a rough idea what your cars worth until you tell them what you're interested in buying, then you're under typical salesman pressure to buy the bloody thing. Puts me right off even speaking to these guys in the first place.

Firstly, please don't get confused with me (Alan-G) and AlanG as we are different folks (he's a stalker really though Lol)

About a part-ex, I got me WRX from a similar crew (www.motor-depot.co.uk)  (same price £13,999) and told them over the blower aboot Fab1's (me missus) peaugeot 307 pile of dog dirt. and they offered book price without even seeing it.

Once the deal was done, I just had to wait a day or so and the WRX arrived on a 1 car transporter and the fella just rolled it off, rolled on the pug and off he went.

Superb service and what a really nice bunch of people to deal with.

Alan-G

Ps. the peaugeot 307 was more expensive to buy 1½ years previously than the WRX !  Both brand new.

just to shed some light on this, these are 07 model cars with ebd,not some lesser spec early 06 import carsthat have been lying around for over a year and you would have issues with regards warranty,as we have been having recently with pan euro cars.[;)]

These are official uk cars with a full 3 years warranty and breakdown assistance,p/ex will be welcomed and a good deal can still be had,and when you come to get rid of it a dealer will welcome you with open arms, which unfortunately we can't with an imported car.

TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED £16995 AT A DEALER NEAR YOU!
